Ok, I may jump all over the place, so bear with me lol. Ok, while the bowflex and nordic track are great things to have, try power walking outdoors (weather permitting) walk with your heels turned out like a ballerina, and swing your arms in time with your steps. I know I know it sounds silly, but power walking is the best thing for you cardio/fat burning/muscle toning. Ok, food...this is the best thing in the world you can do twice a day. You may have to aquire a taste for it, but you can do it...drink a full glass of grapefruit juice every morning and every evening...grapefruit juice has enzymes that burn fat. Buy non-concentrate. Just hold our nose and gulp it down. Buy yourself a pair of leg weights, and wear them daily, even to work. You will find your legs getting nice and toned...you can even wear them during your power walks. Salmon and Talapia are perfect for you...stick with them and the veggies plus fruits! Strawberries/Blueberries/Kiwi/Bananas...all of it. Stay away from Coconut. You dont have to cut meat completely out, their is a lot of iron in red meat, so use it in moderation. But I agree that I prefer white meat and fish to red meat as well.
Success? I am a former gymnast, and am a current ballet dancer. When I stopped competing I had to keep my excersise consitant or all of that muscle would have turned to fat. Make sure you keep your excersise consistant...so on rainy days jump on the nordic track with some good music and bottled water and work it. Drink lots and lots of water...try switching to soy milk, however you have to make up for the lost vitamines that regular milk provides so you can balance that out with ensure. I know this is alot to take in, but it has worked for me for years. Always check with your Dr. as well. He knows best. Finally, and this is going to sound silly, but it is soo good for you. Check out your local dance studios, they may offer dance classes. Ballet is so good for the whole body, and diciplining the mind. If you simply hate ballet, than try a hip hop class or modern jazz, something that your comfortable with. Dancing always makes it fun. I hope this helps, and you can do it. Nothing is achieved without passion. Good Luck!

I have a couple friends that have used the Bowflex and love it! It really does help lose weight and is great for building strength.
One word of wisdom I would suggest is to not deprive yourself of foods that you love. Although the goal is to lose weight, it is okay to treat yourself every now and again to a food that you enjoy. The trick is MODERATION!!
I have lost weight in the past by a combination of several things.
1. A routine workout several times a week. Make sure that you are increasing your heart rate for at least 30 minutes a couple days a week.
2. A healthy diet-really pay attention to what foods you are eating. If you have certain foods that are tempting, maybe eliminate them from your pantry or refrigerator and replace them with something that is low-fat. I went from eating ice cream to eating sorbet ( a healthy 100 calorie snack). Also, the 6 small meals a day really works.
3. Make sure you are drinking 32 oz. water every day!! This is very important and actually gives you the "full feeling" without ever eating anything!
Good luck!!!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

protein carbs and vegetables for each meal. eat six meals a day. it comes to about every three hours. so, a piece of salmon, an apple and maybe a small salad would be a great meal. work out with the bowflex on monday wednesday and friday. do cardio on tuesday thursday and saturday. those have proven to be the best methods to burn fat and have a great body.......good luck

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Try cardio work. Make sure that you are working out hard enough to reach your target heart rate. Try running increasing distances each time you run, which will also build your endurance. Drink a lot of water when you exercise too. I'd recommend joining a gym with someone you can go with. If you go with someone, you'll be more motivated to go. Try cycling ("spinning") classes - on stationary bikes. Most gyms have them. They play fun, motivational music, and you'll have a good time. Good luck! =)

You will become weak if you get rid of protein.
As a matter of fact......probably the healthiset diet on the market today is "the south beach diet"
With south beach, you can eat planty of veggies, some fruits and lean protiens....and it works.
Take it from me....im a die hard atkins girl. lost 60 lbs on it...but i missed eating some of the items on atkins....i would be TOO hungry for low cal.........so instead of getting rid of protein......you want to eat it
opt for high fiber, lower carbs (not NO carbs)....and plenty of veggies & beans...you will FEEL a difference !

Chicken, green beans, brocolli, spinach, asparagus, tuna, tilapia, almonds, peanut butter, and lots of water. If you keep you meals limited to the above foods you will lose weight. Eat several small meals throughout the day (eat every 3 hours) And LOTS of water

exercise 3-5 days a week
weight lift every second day
6 glasses of water a day
No Juice, No Pop
Milk is ok; but drink 1% or no fat/skim
No Pizza, No chips, no fast food
Eat from all food groups, but in moderation
Put all your meals on a small plate instead of a large one, you will cut down on calories this way.
If you need to snack at night try popcorn (lower in calories than chips) or try fruit.
I created that diet & exercise program, I lost 50 pounds in one year
For protien, try:
Tofu
Peanut butter that is low cal or low in fat (in moderation)
Peanuts (in moderation)
Cheese (try low fat or low cal. cheese)
