does excstasy really kill that many brain cells?

Everyone says ecstasy is the worse for you or whatever..but to me so many other drugs are they make you crazy and x isnt addictive but i heard that it kills hella brain cells..i have freinds that have done it for years and they havnt realy changed

It really does **** your brain up. Say you do it twice a month for a couple years in your teens, your 20 year old brain will look like a 40 year old's. Keep it to a couple times a year and you should be ok.

Your friends probably yes have changed. Althou the change being slow over time isnt very noticable. Ive worked in the ICU at a local level 1 trauma center and believe me, ive seen the MRI images of the brains of extacy players . The images look like that of an 80 year old alzheimers patient, with holes bored through the grey matter, holes empty of neurons, incapable of sending messages through. Yes rehab is possible but after YEARS of therapy, focused on making new neuropathic connections to regain one more motor skill. To me...it just aint worth it... Id rather recommend lumber burning.

To even think about taking any drugs to enhance your sexual experiences is like saying I'm going to shoot myself in the foot and hope that it doesn't hurt. Those kinds of drugs can and only hurt you, there really aren't any positive affects.

Your friends are different than you. You are not them, you don't have the same characteristics/resistance abilities as them. Whether or not you see the affects immediately or far down the road is something that's going to happen anyway.

Go ahead, take it, be like your friends, see what happens. But don't be complaining when you're lying in a hospital bed in the ER thirty years from now dumb as a rock.

Being that it is a realatively new drug the long term affects are not that well known, but like any drug that messes with the brain's natural chemistry it can have an affect. There have been people that still feel the affects of x even when they haven't taken it in a long time.

Yes, ecstasy does kill brain cells just like any other drug abuse. A girl above also answered this question (Helives). She states that this drug will change your DNA. As a pharmacology student I can tell you, there is no way that this could happen.

Ex makes your brain empty out all of is Serotonin at once. Serotonon makes you happy. Therefore it is a really good time until it is over...then you are depressed untill your brain makes more.

NO! excstacy is not as bad as crack or haroin. pending on how you feel before you take the pill is how your roll ( high) will feel while your on the pill. Different strokes for different folks....
