will a 3.0 motor work on a 3.8 tranny and if will what do i have to do and change

The rear wheel drive cars use the same transmission bolt pattern as a small block windsor v8 engine. Not sure about front wheel drive though.

Which vehicle?

Taurus had at least 3 engine choices... 3.0 Vulcan, 3.8, and 3.0 Duratec. Supposedly they all used the same tranny, but there were a few revisions. Be specific!

Call your local Transmission shop. Then call around make sure get the same reply.

If your is rear wheel drive it should fit , If it is front wheel drive I know it will fit, I need to know what year , Car or truck.good luck
