If they were saying homosexuality is a sin, then they are right and should not be charged. People say religion should be tolerant, of people yes, of sin, absolutely not. Is God tolerant of sin, no. It is not hate to speak of homosexuality as a sin, because it is a sin, no if, ands, or buts about it. If a homosexual receives Christ they should be willing to repent of that sin and if they are willing, Jesus will help them do it. It does work, I've seen it work. On the other hand this hate crimes bill is very serious, if you value your first amendment rights, you will not want to see this thing passed in the USA. If it does alot of Christians will be in jail because they are trying to preach righteousness and truth, I will probably be one of them. Oh well, we will see who is right on the Last Day.

So, if a pastor preaches about something in their religious texts they can be charged with a hate crime now???

What will be next, if you tell someone they do something wrong, then that's judgmental and that means it's hate???? So, does that mean that if a pastor preaches against things that are wrong, they can be charged with hate crimes?

What will be next? Judges in court will be wrong for telling someone they did anything wrong and we should just let people do whatever they want, even if it is harmful?

Guess what Christians, they are winning at making us look like we're the bad guys.

actual the preacher could desire to set the extreme ordinary for his congregation / parish coaching good morals. in spite of the shown fact that, as any good chief, it would be stick yet style. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says: "2358 The form of adult men and ladies who've deep-seated gay dispositions isn't negligible. This inclination, this is objectively disordered, constitutes for many of them an ordeal. they could desire to be prevalent with know, compassion, and sensitivity. each sign of unjust discrimination of their regard could desire to be prevented. those human beings are called to fulfill God's will of their lives and, in the event that they're Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's go the problems they could stumble upon from their condition." If the preachers speech especially called to harm the homosexuals, then that's a hate crime. comparable as though the preacher mentioned to flow and harm all motor vehicle thief's ... (invoking a hate crime). Or if the preacher advised his congregation to make eunuchs of the pedophiles listed on government pages. yet whilst the preacher mentioned "God's have been given a greater proper plan for people who carry out homosexuals acts ... God's have been given a greater proper plan for motor vehicle thieves ... God's have been given a greater proper plan for pedophiles ... and additionally you get to God's plan via following the word of God" .... nicely, it is not a hate crime.

"isn't religion supposed to be about tolerance?"

Religion is not about tolerance of sin at all, we wish to eradicate it. not by killing the person of course, by loving the person so they will accept Christ as their savior and be reformed inside out.

I think it's totally wrong to charge the pastors with hate crimes. It is wrong to engage in homosexual activity, god made it for man and woman together in marraige. that may sound stupid, but send me a message if you want the details on it. The gist of it is is that the man has a different role from the woman, and that if two women are together, they are both trying to fulfill the same role and are missing the man's role, and vice versa for male homosexuality.

it's bullshit. Even if your not homophobic, it's clear that separation of church and state swings both ways. I don't think that religion should regulate state policy, but the state shouldn't be able to arrest a man teaching what his religion preaches. It says very clearly in the bible that God has a problem with homosexuals. I'm not Christian, I'm just pointing out the bitter obvious. Do they have separation of church and state in Canada. Probably not, floppy-headed bastards.

Since when is preaching GOD's WORD a hate crime ?

Whoops, my bad >>> since the liberals and others think that sin is "THEIR RIGHT".

Soon anyone that wants to do evil will declare it "THEIR RIGHT" to do so.

Then you will be charged with a HATE CRIME for being against whatever fulfills their lust.

i think it is a very dangerous precedent. what will be next-maybe we wont be able to speak out against crime because it might offend the criminal. the bible says to love the sinner and hate the sin. should it be wrong to hate an action or an opinion? this kind of thinking can only lead eventually to chaos and anarchy

To me, a hate crime would involve inciting violence or hatred of homosexuals, not simply sharing how God in his Word has condemned the act of homosexuality and has Himself warned of impending judgement for those who engage in these activities.

It is the same old cliche over and over...Love the sinner..speak out against the sin. It is a warning...not condemnation and not hate......

I say: Bravo, Canada! Well done!

I also say: Can we start doing that in the USA? I'm not gay, but I get tired of listening to the religious obsessing about private behaviors. Besides, after they're done with the homosexuals, they'll be coming after us heteros next, because they don't really want us enjoying ourselves, either.

I think they are despicable. Westboro Baptist my foot.

They are an antichrist group filled with hate for everybody. I really hate what they did at the dead soldiers funerals they were killed in Iraq. They are a dangerous breed and have absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. Nothing.
