Do you know that 2.5 million have been killed in Southern Sudan since 1983, the same year Chevron discovered oil there? Do you know that in the last 3 years half a million more have died in Darfur, the western province of Sudan? I dare say that's a wee bit more than died in the mines, but I bet you saw Blood Diamond. So, yes I care about those people, but I don't wear precious stones or metal. But do YOU think about how many died because of the gas you put in your car? The care you drive to church to pray about the people who died in the mines?

There are many Christian organizations that are feeding, clothing and bringing health-care to the poor not only in Africa but all over the world. Where is the local chapter of Atheists doing something like that?
There are none. Atheists are among the most likely to do nothing for nor contribute anything to anyone else. This is because most Atheists would reject the existence of God even if it could be proven mathematically or scientifically. Because, the mere existence of a God would limit their own egos.

I don't think many people in my faith wear crosses.. some do wear diamonds...
People all around the world die every day doing jobs that they hate or perhaps just dislike.. because THEY think it is the right thing to do for their own families...
People of many religions and non-religious people wear precious stones and gold.. it is not just Christians.

If I had a precious stone I would sell it. Never seen one in a cross.

How many Christians have died trying to bring the word of God to those people? And lets not put this on Christians. Lots of people wear glod and diamonds, and most aren't even Christian.

I have never seen a diamond on a cross.
Also, diamonds are a ridiculous pursuit. I am sure there are vaults full of the useless rocks and the diamond industry releases them in small batches and has their "2 months salary" campaign for engagement rings. That is all manufactured crapola.

Stop grasping at straws. Try something a little more solid to put Christians down. Ask your daddy for advice on grownup conversations. Dont waste your time with this so trivial pursuit, do something constructive with your life if there is still time.

You forgot to mention the diamonds that all the well-to-do wear when they go to their charities, for cocktails, and theater outings.
And don't forget all those that have diamond rings when they marry or just want to have.
What's your point?

I'm actually an anti-diamond atheist, but isn't the count somewhere in the millions?

Catholics...address that question to them...there is enough gold and jewels in the vatican city alone to feed millions and support thousands of missionaries really doing god's work...but than the apostate church would lose its luster wouldnt it
