Well for one thing, many things in the Bible have been scientifically, historically and archaeologically proven to be accurate. Additionally, many prophecies of the Bible have already been fulfilled. Those which have not been fulfilled yet are referring to a future time. Watch and see, and some may yet be fulfilled in our lifetime. Historians and archeologists have used the Bible as a tool and it has served them well. Also, the men who wrote the books of the Bible did so over a span of many centuries, and they lived in various regions and only used materials they had available at the time to record what was written. These records have been passed down and have supported one another (rather than contradicted), despite the fact that these men had no way of sharing what they wrote with the authors of a different era and region. There is no logical way that authors in ancient times, writing down the contents of our present-day Bible, could ever hope to be able to record similar things which support and validate the writings of others, over a span of centuries, and have these writings flow well together and bring about the same overall conclusion, unless these authors were inspired by God to write what they wrote. While the Bible has had many different translations and versions throughout the centuries, the basic message has not changed since the first writings were recorded. That is reason enough to believe the Bible.

The Bible does not say that Christians should not believe any other book, but it does say to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Once you are enabled to come to the Lord (John 6:44), then you will know what to believe and what to cast out. Until then, you're on your own. Best of luck!
Respectfully,

Because everything inside the bible is true. There is so much evidence in this world that prove that the bible is true. Such things as the amazing flood (they've found petrified clams on top of Mt. Everest....how else would that happen...the flood perhaps?),prehistoric sea animals being found(like that shark in japan, or the Lochness monster)..there is just too much evidence in this world that prove that the bible is true. I hope that this will help you to know the truth, because you do not want an angry God infront of you on judgement day. God Bless.

Lots of people believe in other books. The Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon. Christian Scientists have their own inspired books. Muslims have the Koran. Scientologists have their own books.
However the more books that people believe in, the more confusing it becomes. Who is to decide what books to believe in? Does each person have the authority to decide which books are inspired?
The decision on what is inspired has to be determined based upon history, the authority of the church itself, and it has to ring true to science, archeology, and logical scrutiny.

You can believe in anything you want. Jews do not believe in the New Testament.
FYI, no other books were written (as a Bible).
Library of Congress owns it...lol

i don't think that people should believe in the bible. unless perhaps it is the original version. i know for a fact the witness bible < New World Translation> words and phrases have been deleted, rephrased and rewritten to accommodate for their beliefs. such behavior as this caused me to question any and all other translations. just one example compare the opening statement in the book of john. you know in the beginning was the word...

Nobody ever said you couldn't beleive other books. When I need the number for Dominoes, I trust in the phone book. I put my professional trust in the many army manuals I have. I even believe science and history books, to a point. But nothing does my soul better than the Bible.

The bible is not what you believe in, If you believe, you believe in God, Jesus, the feeling inside you knowing that you are saved and will spend eternity in heaven, The Bible is a collection of different ones recollections and histories of the creation of man....It is to be used and interpreted as you see fit. ..........Nuf Said

Symptoms of groupthink
In order to make groupthink testable, Irving Janis devised eight symptoms that are indicative of groupthink (1977).
1)A feeling of invulnerability creates excessive optimism and encourages risk taking.
2)Discounting warnings that might challenge assumptions.
3)An unquestioned belief in the group’s morality, causing members to ignore the consequences of their actions.
4)Stereotyped views of enemy leaders.
5)Pressure to conform against members of the group who disagree.
6)Shutting down of ideas that deviate from the apparent group consensus.
7)An illusion of unanimity with regards to going along with the group.
8)Mindguards — self-appointed members who shield the group from dissenting opinions
