I am getting pit passes at Pocono for the cup race and I was wondering if anyone had any info for me.. you know, what to wear in the pits, what I should bring, when to get there...
Anyone feel like sharing stories, go ahead....

definitely wear closed toe shoes, and pants. Take your camera and an autograph book or whatever you want to get autographed and a marker so they can use it to sign their autograph...I always take ,camera, what I want autographed, and a marker...we usually get to the race a good 3-4 hrs. before the race so that we have enough time to go to the pits and really look around and get the feel of the garages and everything else there..Enjoy your self it is well worth it...the thrill of a lifetime...I met Brandon Gaughan, Steve Park, Ward Burton, Hank Parker, Jr. Kasey Kane, Rusty Wallace, Michael and Buffy Waltrip, Jimmy Johnson, Hermie Sadler, and Bobby Labonte.

papabill is exactlly right.
i have been in the pits 3 times and yes u must wear closed shoes,sleeved shirts,and long pants.
now at a IRL race u can wear whatever u want.been in the pits there too.check out my 360 profile and there are pics of me and the ol lady in the pits at kentucky speedway for the IRL race.also had garage passes,man that was sweet.
bring anything u want autographed that is not cumbersom to carry.have a sharpie pen!sometimes u will run into a driver and they will not have a pen.take pictures.
drivers are busy people so they will not stop and BS with u to much.u have to walk up to them while pushing ur way through the crowd.
when i got truex' autograph,it was a madhouse around him.prepare to be pushed if u want autographs.
up at indy i actually got to meet jamie mcmurry.we talked for about 5 min.he is actually a pretty cool person.also me bobby hamilton sr.that was an honor as far as i am concerned.

Yes.I was in the garage/pits at Talladega Saturday and have been in the garage areas many times.
If you do get to go into the garage area and oits long pants;protects the legs if you bump into a car that is hot.
Also no sandels or open toe shoes,tennis shoes are OK.Once again this is a saftey issue.
Shirts must be worn(no halters ect.) Tee shirts are fine.
Cameras are ok,and autographable items are OK.
But most garage areas will not let you bring in alcohol.If caught you will be escorted out of the garage/pit area.

Yes I have I went to the California Speedway. Its amazing good choice. It doesnt matter how you dress but I couldnt imagine going to a race without them. Get there 2 hours or more before the race and then when your in the pits if you know what time your supposed to get out dont wait for the people to say you have to get out because if you wait as long as you can you can see drivers and you dont get in trouble for staying just say oh i didnt know ne thing about them! We made the mistake of getting out when our cards said we were supposed to when really nobody got in trouble for staying longer. Just totally explore if you are somewhere you arent supposed to be you dont get in trouble really so just wander all you want and try to find some drivers!

We went in the pits several times at the Chicagoland Speedway. I just wore shorts and tank top. Be sure not to forget your Sharpie's in case you get a chance to meet up with some of the drivers. I met your driver (who I'm assuming is Kasey Kahne-lol) 2 years ago and got my pic & autograph. He was very friendly. Be sure to take a bottle of water with you, it gets hot and everyone is pushing to get to the front and meet their driver. I would suggest getting down there as early as possible to get a good spot by the fence. I'm only 5 ft. tall and had to work my way to the front to see anything. But I'm very motivated and got lots of autographs and pics. Good luck, have fun at the race and don't forget your camera !! Go Jeff Gordon !!

i had pit passes at atlanta.. where whatever you want but wear some closed toe shoes. you can have shorts and short sleave shirt or whatever. they really dont care. i got to see qualifying and meet drivers. it was great. im 6'0 tall and i was taller than most of the people in pits. there all short. haha. but no you will have fun. just dont tell the drivers you love them cause they dont care. tell them your biggest fan of theres and they will sign anything.

Nope. NASCAR has never issued pit passes.

my husband said to wear your shirt who you pulled for the race. hats, shirts. or send the tickets to him and he will go. lol.i dont think you can take stuff in there. maybe a drink. good luck, tell dale jr, i said hello. go 8.................
