I am trying to build a business in a new area, and i want to offer a special. Which would you prefer as a customer?
A free product, which can retail upwards of $20 with the referal of 2 people?
or
A free haircut, which will be somewhere between $18 and $20, with the referal of 2 people?
Just wanting to get an idea of what the customer wants.

I hate the pressure of having to convince my friends to go to a certain salon. Why not offer free gift or haircut after so many visits, like you could give them a punch card, and when its full, free haircut.

The haircut. Products don't do that well-some people don't want a particular product and if you do individualized it gets to be a mess-"Oh, so and so got the placenta rinse and all I got was the fudge flavored spike gel-what a rip off!" even if they were both worth $20.00.
BTW where are you located? I need a new haircutter-mine moved to Oregon.

If you give away free product you are going to loose money because you have to pay for that product... In my salon we give away a free haircut... that way you don't loose money you are just giving up your time... free haircut saves you money in the long run

the free haircut is better because if she or he gets a good cut they will tell everyone and you will get more customers from it , i am a stylist and thats what we do at my salon for the people that are just starting .

i'm a guy with long shaggy hair so i have no use for the haircut but i guess a free product is always appealing
