I really get sick of the whole Democrat/Republican Liberal/Conservative BS.
It's about our government as a whole making bad decisions. For those of you dogging the Democrats, remember it was the Republicans that got us into this mess in the first place.........and the Democratic controlled Congress let them do it.........you can go round and round and round ad nauseum with this BS all day long.
It's all subjective. Can we "win" if we keep pouring money and troops into Iraq with no long term plan and no end in sight? Can we "lose" if Congress forces the President to bring the troops home within the next year?
IMHO it was always a losing proposition to begin with. If by some miracle we turn Iraq into a federal republic where Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds all get along and happily sell us oil cheaply, we still lose. How? Because we've pissed off all the other Muslims who don't want us in the Middle East, making it easier for radical Islamic terrorist groups to recruit. We only inflamed terrorist groups with our invasion and continued occupation.
The only way we can "win" is to either completely eradicate Islam from the face of the earth, or brainwash every Muslim into thinking that democracy is the way to go.
Neither one is going to happen. People need to wake up. The "war on terror" is as big a joke as "the war on drugs". Neither one is winnable. You can seek to limit and contain, but you can't get rid of either one outright.

While it's hard to believe everything that's being thrown around now about this issue I do think dems are thinking more about themselves than our soldiers. They have no desire to win OUR war, they would rather lose it to discredit the republicans and Pres. Bush. I have absolutely no idea why anyone would WANT to lose a war, but that's what pulling out, setting deadlines, and giving time lines would do, either soon or later.
I think they want a deadline of September 2008 because then they can say, look at what the republicans did, they lost the war, just in time for the election. What significance does that date have otherwise? The fiscal year?

as republicans worry funding the war to keep it all going they have no regard for our soldiers who are there for more than one time and back for 2 or 3. They also seem to disregard our soldiers who are wounded beyond repair and no money to help them! If they stop watching fox and watch other reports they would get it!

Well unfortantly i agree with people going to Iraq, people are listining to much on what the " media" is saying. Hate Bush, all they are doing in Iraq is getting killed. The real fact is that we are there to protect Iraq, if we were to leave Iraq, Iran would invade that place faster then i could say bomb. Its the reason why Iran wants us to leave Iraq. We are helping not only there military and there sicurity, we are also helping them live. Without us there would be chaos in Iraq. If you asked one millitary citizen if they wanted to leave they will tell you no. And that there proud of serving our country and what our country stands for and that freedome and rights. I agree with Bush, and i'm happy and proud to have him as president. I'm sure when God tells him its the right time to take our men out, he will. But i dont think we should hate him for not.

People blame Bush for killing the soldiers, but it's the Dems who do most of it.
Like Kerry voting against body armor for the troops.

Because they are trying to gain votes for the next election and they know Bush can veto with out loosing votes. It's a game and our Troops have to suffer for Congress' self centered needs.
Please Support Our Troops and Civilian Contractors unconditionally

There not, troops have all they need to fight, the Bill is to bring soldiers home, not leave them high and dry. I suggest you do a little more research rather than to just start typing.

We are four years into this needless, useless war, and you are still worrying about body armor instead of getting the hell out of the bloody worthless place. At this point in WWI we had taken 70,000 deaths, in WWII 250,000, in Korea 50,000; but they were all for something. The 3200 deaths we have sustained thusfar in Iraq are very regrettable, but they were totally useless. If you are concerned about the lives of our military figure out some way to get us out of this mess that George the Dumber got us into.
s/a viet vet; are you?
