My mom got her new psychiatric, and this doctor gave her stelazine(trifluoperazine), clozaril and haloperidol in one prescription, is it safe for her? Coz she seems so lazy after eating those pills. Thanks

The drugs that you mention are very strong anti psychotic drugs. (The psychiatrist is using a combination of drugs).

Myself I would never write and Rx., for these type of mind altering drugs from my office.

My policy is to place the patient in the hospital where they have 24/7 supervision to monitor the patient for adverse reaction to these combinations. Plus you did not mention the mg., per each drug.

My professional opinion her psychiatrist is playing with fire by writing and Rx. from his office for these types of drugs, instead of having your mother in a hospital where she can be stabilized with the right combination and Mg's.

These type of drugs require observation, routine blood work to make sure the patient is not toxic. (To avoid liver failure).

Sincerely hope that you are not a minor and considered an adult where you reside.

Please advise your mother or if you are an adult take your mother to your local emergency room and have them take blood samples and check her out. Be sure and take the Rx. with you for the emergency room doctor to see.

Depending on the amount of mg's, these type of drugs can knock out an elephant.

If you are worried, then get an opinion from another doctor.

Your mother should be evaluated regularly by her physician.
