I don't know the difference. Is one nicer and one not? Is one real and the other fake? Or are they just the same?

The question is complicated. "Spirit" arises from the Latin Spiritus. Ghost is native English. In the Old English period and into even the modern period the word "ghost" could be used interchangeably with the Latin loan word "spirit." Now, it is not so. Ghost had a rather grizzly feel even in Old English, and so came to refer exclusively to the returning dead spirits, and "spirit" took the role of general term.

Having given an explanation for the confusion, no, I don't believe in ghosts. When your spirit passes on, it doesn't linger long here (according to Tradition, it is received to its place after a few days, and in some stories in Tradition, guided by its guardian angel). The only time I can picture any human spirit returning would be by the exception placed on it by God, but it would be an exception.

Thus, I believe "hauntings", if real, to be demonic, and the same goes for "ghost" sightings.

Spirits & Ghosts are not flesh & blood. That is all. Humans alone are flesh & blood.

Jesus raised up an everlasting body, but that is still different than our corruptible bodies we live in today.

There is a soul in every one of us. And when we are born again, we are born of His Spirit and become a new person in Christ. We are a soul/spirit in a body.

So, the spiritual consists of Godly and Gods Kingdom and the ungodly, the devil & his messengers.

Our souls go where God puts our souls after we die. So people aren't floating around. Spirits/Ghosts floating around could be good or bad, depending on if it is Godly or ungodly.

Jesus said that some demons were worst than other demons. Some are really bad & also responsible for possessing people to torture others or themselves.

I'd have to say no they're not the same. I think you could call ghosts "spirits" if you want to. But there are definitely spirits that are not ghosts.

I've never seen a ghost. But I have been face to face with a few spirits. One in particular was horribly evil and threatened to kill me. It definitely wasn't a ghost (the spirit of a dead person); because it wasn't remotely human whatever it was.

A ghost is usually considered to be the spirit of somebody that has died, but in the Bible they could be the same thing.

Spirits are real. They are non-human creatures who were created as spirits, and have never been human. There are good spirits (angels), and evil spirits (demons) who were originally created good but who rebelled against God and became evil. "Ghosts" are supposedly the "spirits" of dead human beings who are still wandering the earth. They do not exist. The spirits of dead human beings are in heaven or in hell, not wandering around old houses rattling chains and throwing dishes.

"A ghost is usually conceived as a wandering spirit from a being no longer living, having survived the death of the body yet maintaining the mind and consciousness."
So yes, they are the same in a sense.

Spirits are energies. Ghosts are physical manifestations of that energy. (ie voices you hear vs doors that open on their own)

All ghosts are spirits, but not all spirits are ghosts. A ghost is the spirit of a once living human, but not all spirits were once living humans.
