my best friend and I were very big in the baptist church when we were in school... he was a deacon...when he came out as gay... our church condemned him...so apparently their love was conditional... I couldn't understand that.. I refused to deny him..and felt I would be condemned too so I left... he became wiccan because they accept everyone and its a peaceful religion... I was in limbo as far as religion goes but am coming to realize that the wiccan way is what I like.

I was always fascinated by the Greek Gods, I became interested in them as a kid. I saw them as being easier to relate to than the Christian God, because they were more like us. As I studied Paganism, I became attached to several different systems of magic that were slightly different but not mutually exclusive of each other. So, long story short, now I'm an Eclectic Pagan with Hellenic deities who practices Herbal Magic/ Green Witchcraft, and Shamanism.

Your definition includes many more people than people who call themselves "pagans" would. For example, all Buddhists, Taoists, and Hindus.
I'm pagan by your definition but not by the definition of true pagans (Wiccans, Druids, and other earth-based religions). I used to be Christian, actually. But what I heard and read about Christianity didn't match up with my own experiences. When you're faced with that, you can either believe what you're told, or believe your own experiences. I chose the latter.

I'm not a pagan because I want to worship God, I'm a Pagan because I once met a hot girl who was a white witch and now I go to pub moots and drink beer.

I grew up polytheist and I feel that my gods chose me (I have no idea why). I used titles instead of names for them. I started to learn some of their names about 15 years ago through research and meditation. But there are still some that I use titles for and they don't seem to mind. Since my deities are the most important thing to me, I chose my path because it helps me to understand and honor them. Without my Gods, I'd have no reason for religion.

because we can see our gods in our dreams and meditations. we can actually have a bond with them.
tell me when it was the last time you had a conversation
with your god. DID YOU KNOW CHRSTIANITY DURING JESUS'S TIME STOLE SOME OF OUR TRADITIONS?LIKE OUR YULE TIME( YOUR CHRISTMAS)
why do you follow christ? when i was christian, i wanted to commit suicide.now that im pagan, i actually hear, see,
and feel the energies of nature, and im very happy.it is like my medicine.
I dont follow christ because of all the massacres it has created and not to metion all the wars. It also doesnt accept people who we are.paganism is a peaceful religion and doesn't label people like christianity.
plus, paganism is in fact older than christianity itself.it is probably the oldest earth religion.
we dont believe in the devil, or hell.(even though ive heard satanism is a peaceful religion) we are the people we are.
i came about it because i had a loving bond with mystical beings, but when it all came to the chritian god, i felt scared,
and i also felt betrayed in some weird way. i studied it and im a neopagan wiccan.i feel really safe and more positive in myself.
