There is no law that says you cannot hug a Guy if youre a guy. As a matter of a fact if you are very comfortable with your sexuality its fine to do so. Think of football players they smack each others @$$ all the time and hug.
Everyone needs a hug sometimes. And if your there and your friend needs a hug, just do it. He needs that hug more than any judgemental comment

It is okay for straight guys to hug other guys just keep it brief, if you hug a guy like you hug a girl then people may giving you the eye but if you hug 'em like your just friends than no one cares.

Guys usually feel that it is non-masculine to hug each other, although they sometimes do. there have been guys that I have hugged and I am definitely not gay. But I do not do it all the time, and I must have spent so much time with that individual that he becomes like family to me. Even then, it is a rare occasion that I ever hug a guy. Girls are touchy feelly. They need to be toutched to feel loved.

Pride issue, gosh your way off girl. I think its because hugging is a sign of emotional needyness (ie weakness) guys see needyness as a weakness. I will do it on rare occasions where the situation warrents it (saying goodbye to a friend for example) but I dont like to overdo it.
Same as hugging a straight girl, it has inuendos to it. She may get it in her head that u like her more then friends or vice versa. Hugs are like borderline, whereas kisses are telltale signs.

Well guys (at least the guys around here) have a 'hug.' It involves shaking hands with one hand and hugging with the other. I think this is mainly because many men are insecure with their sexuality and a full on embrace between two men makes them uncomfortable.

Because the majority of people in the world are too immature to look past the fact that 2 guys can hug without being gay. and a 16 year old can date a 20 year old without having sex...that a person can have dreaded hair without smoking pot...it's immaturity and stereotypes...it's stupid but it happens.

a lot of people see hugging as a rather feminine trait..they're probably afraid to be seen as gay or fem.
oh, and often when you hug it involves body contact from waist to chest, and with guys and down there..yea.
so that has a factor in it, too.
personally i only give them weird looks when its a little too tight and for a little too long.

I think its because they dont want them to think they are H.@# when they hug boys because they dont want there friends to say bad thins about them.but if it was a girl its okay because they think that nothing is going on.

girls feel comfortable with one another... i believe guys don't and its a pride issue... why don't guys cry in front of people same thing
