To do this, soak the corn in slightly salted water for about 20 to 30 minutes. Shake off the excess water and place on a grill with medium hot coals until the outer husks are browned and the corn inside is steamed (about 15 - 20 minutes). Keep the corn about 8 or 10 inches from the flames. Turn them every few minutes so they cook evenly.
Peel, dip in melted butter, eat. Yum!

You'll need to peel back the husks and remove the silk strands inside before you do anything else.
Then, put the husks back in place, and soak the corn for an hour or two. The water will help steam the corn and help kep the husks from burning up. You can add butter and salt to the corn (under the husks) at this point.
Put them on a low fire, or bank the coals to one side so the heat isn't too intense on the corn.
Grill for 10 to 20 minutes. The husks should be scorched, but not burned up, and the corn should be steam-cooked and smoke-flavored.

It is really easy. Take the freshest corn you can find. Pull the husk down around the ear of corn, but do not remove. Pull all the silk off the ear of corn. Rinse well under cold water. Do this for all the ears of corn. Pull the husk back over the ears of corn and soak in cold water as you get your grill ready. When the grill is hot, take the corn out the the water hold the ear so the excess water drips out, then place on the grill. Make sure the husk is around the ear of corn. Cook for about 20-25 minutes. Pull down the husk, add butter, salt, and pepper.

You can actually do this in a plastic bag in a microwave. Experiment around with the times but it should be about 10 to 15 minutes. HOWEVER if you want that burnt flavor from the husks by barbecuing just put the corn with the husk on the grill and cook away keeping an eye on the texture you want. Keep the outer husks moisturized and check after 15 minutes.

Never heard of freezing corn on the cob with the husk on, I hope it turns out okay. I do know that when you cook corn on the cob with the husks on, they need to be moist. Most time I submerge them for 30 minutes in cold water, pull back the husks to remove the silk and then grill. Oh, they won't be poisonous. Good luck, hope they turn out nicely for you. Just make sure the husk are very moist and then grill for about 20 - 25 minutes turning frequently.

i don't know exactly how long to cook it you would just have to check it periodically, but you soak the corn in water for a couple of hours before cooking . the steam from the soaked husks steams the corn
