If they think all religion is just stories and myths wouldn't this be a more appropriate category

By definition a myth is already proved to be just that. An atheist would find nothing of interest there.

Probably, but there is already a section created. Mythology and folklore is very close to religious lore, it is just not seized upon by some person who gathers the "evidence" and creates a specific "religion" and then begins recruiting. I see no difference between an atheist (who believes something) and a religious devotee (who believes something.) It is all faith and can never be anything more. No one and nothing trumps anyone or anything because it is all elusive belief. And that is what makes the world go 'round.

First of all, Atheists probably wouldn't have any "Religious Questions" to ask- they would be more scientifically based and those would be from Agnostics.
The closest to asking a question in mythology and folklore would be someone taking a class?? or trying to name their dog after a fairy??
Reality is that the Bible is indeed based off of story from closed scripture. It uses metaphor and analogy from the old Middle East. The major difference of today is the interpretation of said scripture.
All that being said, you cannot expect apologetics to defend you own personal beliefs of doctrine, dogma, or creeds when your target audience for this question does not have the same belief systems.

Atheist questions fit in better with religion and spirituality.

in the beginning, no longer all atheists do no longer believe that a faith is fake. they only choose for to no longer place their faith on it. besides, in case you asked in mythology & folklore, it would take plenty longer to receive an answer.
