I Am Learning Russian. Is A Beautiful Language. It Is Not Hard to Learn. Find Yourself Three Good Russian Speaking Friends, (They Have to Be Blatantly Honest, and Willing To Laugh At You When You Mispronounce Things). Next Explain To Them What Your Goals Are, Then Ask Them To Start Helping You Learn. I Recommend Getting an English-Russian Dictionary, and Seriously Study Your Heart Out Over The Cryllic Alphabet, and The Normal Pronunciations For Each Letter. Practice Rolling Your R's, It Will Help. Then Start By Learning How To Introduce Yourself, How Make Conversation. Days/Months, Learn Your Numbers. Also Learn How To Order Foods, Like A Sandwich, Or The Names Of Things You Buy A Lot. Make A List of Things You Like To Do, Learn Those Words, You Never Know When Someone Might Ask "Shto Veh Lubit' Dyelat'? Remember There Is A Formal, and Informal Way Of Addressing People. Even When Your Friends Are Not Around, Remember To Keep Studying, and Practicing. If No Ones There To Practice With, Have A Conversation With Your Office Chair, Ect. and Whatever You Do, Dont Be Afraid To Ask For Advise/Help.
My Friends Are Very Kind, They Are Patient, But Like I Said, Their Not Afraid To Tell Me I Said Something Wrong, Or To Just Burst Into Laughter When I Mispronounce Something. It Is The Same Reaction You Would Get From A Stranger, So Its Better To Be Used To It, I Remember The First Conversation I Had With My Friends Cousin. He Laughed So Hard When We Were Talking About A Movie We Had Just Watched, I Mispronounced A Word, I Finally Had To Write It Down, and He Laughed Even Harder, Because I Was WAY Off On What I Was Trying To Say. Needless To Say, After That I Got My Act Together and Knuckled Down About Learning...
GOOD LUCK!

I don't understand why people say Russian is soo complicated, because it really isn't as long as you learn it right.
#1 Buy a up to date American English Russian dictionary.
#2 You might want to buy a Russian study book. www.berlitzbooks.com has a study book in Russian.
#3 Make some Russian friends, so they can answer any of your questions and help you practice.

have you learned Latin or german? These languages, like Russian, have declining verbs with cases like dative and ablative. If you haven't, you may be up a gum tree. Good luck. If you wish to pronounce Russian, start putting the letter 'y' after the first syllable of every English word and walk around speaking this neo-langauge - people will think you russian. Adopt a haughty and surly demeanour, with occasional flashes of brilliance and extreme weltschmerz - this too is russian. Here is an exmaple of the dialect. Syo? Yyou Wyish tyo lyearn Ryussian? Thyat iyis impyossible fyor yyou, ignyorant wyestern pyig!

russian is hardest european language. In other words don't go for it. it is totally useless. Followed by that is French as the 2nd hardest language to learn. French is more important than communist russian language. You should know better not to learn to speak the communist's language.
