Jesus' last words were: "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing..." I think the most important lesson was those last words. He suffered and died and in the end He forgave everyone. That's what we have to do. Follow His example.
About sin... we all sin, commit mistake, lie, deceive, betray, steal, etc. we all do a lot of things wrong, but we have consequences for our mistakes, oh yeah... so I don't think Jesus died solely so that we can commit sins and that's OK. I will have consequences... so it makes no sense to me. I believe we always learn from our mistakes, in this or in the next life.
My religion is Spiritism. Check my profile.
Peace!

Jesus did not die for your sins. He died for your sin. The sin that you inherited from Adam as he represented the human race. Jesus came as the second Adam and died that sin could be taken from your life. He also will forgive you of your sins if you ask.

You ask a question and then give two options as an answer. Doesn't work that way. God said the wages of sin is death, but God decided to waive the execution of that judgment to all who would believe upon Christ. Since Christ was the victim it is he who decides as to who is forgiven so if we repent and believe in Him He forgives us. But the only one who will not be forgiven is Satan. So by dying on the cross Satan is judged to death according to the law and believers are saved .In a nutshell that is why Christ had to be murdered by Satan's and his crones. The law is Deuteronomy 19. Let the wise understand.

the concept of needing to be saved by an "only savior demandes you also do a leap of faith for "original sin" you must believe as well to swallow the whole mind trip of someone else's actions somehow means you are at fault
same as always, someone creates a niche you must play or buy into and they of course have the only remedy and you must give something real and now for something you can't prove or have in this life save a fuzzy warm feeling of entering into a ever growing crowd of bleeting blind sheep who are stampeeding towards "lemmings leap" over the cliff
sorry so cynical, my parents raised to believe things they also believed and did not research

I believe that Jesus died so that you can be forgiven if you sin. He did not die exactly because of you sins. He sacrificed Himself because He knew that was the only way in which humans can be forgiven for their sins.

He killed himself to make it possible for you to know how to apologize for your sins.
