This is all I could find on you weapon.
It sounds as though you have a Damascus barrel shotgun made in either Belgium or England some where around the late 1800s.
This weapon should not be shot at all.
The weapons back then were not designed to handle the high pressure loads of to days ammo.

To try and shoot it will likely damage the weapon and the shooter.

Parkhurst shotguns were made in England by J.P. Clabrough & Brothers., and in Belgium by Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin. After 1906 they were all made in Belgium
There was also a Wm Parkhurst who made percussion guns in New Hampshire in the later part of the 1800's

I would say you have a valuable and prized Shotgun there my friend... I would not sell it if I had It.. It will only become more valuable as time marches on... Quality Shotgun and don't let anyone tell you different... They can be used for present day Hunting as long as you handload the ammo.....Fantastic Firearm....
