where can I find a brand new or custom built transmission for a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee? It's an automatic V6 4.0 engine. Thanks!

i own a shop and if you want new you,ll have to go through a dealer, you can get a good rebuilt one through any transmission shop,or get a good used one from a junk yard with low mileage on it,that's the cheapest way to get one but a custom built one you get through this web site I'm putting up,but there very expensive, its ,, www,retransmissions.com,, they have everything there you could want but they are really high, good luck hope this helps.

First of all that engine is a straight 6 not a V6. Second, your local transmission repair shop can either rebuild, or order a new transmission for your Jeep. Don't go to a dealership, they will charge you and arm and a leg for the same service.

PS. just messing with you on the engine. A lot of people don't realize those engines aren't V6's.
