Its not going to go away, but to calm it down you can use aloe vera juice.

from experience and needing my sunburn to be gone the next day it doesn't work... but, you can make it a lot less red...
first get a paper towel.. put an ice cube in it and put vinegar on it and rub it all over the burn.
then when you are going to bed... put A LOT of aloe on.
it will help the redness and pain. it also helps you not peel.

I am certian at Wal Mart product by Banama Boat called After Sun Lotion in sun screen lotion area. Put on thick over night. The aloe vera and vitamin E in product works, is the best one and moisturizing.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream I always burn my face on holiday so I just put it on before I go to bed and it's amazing :) Hope this helps.

I always use cider vinegar. Just splash it on the burn, once an hour till bedtime. I am very fair. I can burn in the shade, and this is what I have used for years. It also keeps me from pealing.
Use sunblock next time!!

Aloe will help it a lot, and my Mom swears by white vinegar to stop the burning and calm it down ;-)

Ideally, don't risk it with the sun!

But use aftersun to cool the burning and plenty of cold compresses.
