Will Smoke be penalized for that "one-finger salute"?

You know, the one he was filmed giving to Jamie McMurray?

With the new PC rules, cussing gets fined in NASCAR, and Tony isn't playing nice right now, so I'm concerned.

By the way, even though I'm a Smoke fan and would happily serve as his stress relief toy, I do not think McMurray was at fault (it was simple 'Dega luck).

I absolutely agree with you. I really don't think Jamie meant to cause any issues on the track today, and I am not angry with him about anything. Talladega is really hard, obviously, and things just happen. Tony has been having some really tough luck these days, and cautions are like the bane of his racing career! As a Tony diehard, I feel really badly for him but definetly have faith in him. He will be winning soon again.

As for his "obscene gesture," he will probably be fined or even penalized. I actually didn't see him make a gesture, but he might have done so. Wasn't Juan Pablo recently put on probation for making an obscene gesture at a camera? Tony might face the same consequence...in fact if I'm not mistaken, he already IS on probation. Tony has suffered enough! But the spotlight is definetly shining down on him, because he is basically the "bad boy" of NASCAR. So, Tony will probably suffer some kind of punishment.

Watching the replays, it doesn't show whether he did that salute or he was just pointing, one would have to be right up against a big screen TV to be able to tell what Tony actually did, but from my view, it looked like it was only pointing.
None of the writers has said that Tony actually did that salute, so I doubt that he did it.
If he did, then fine him, but it is inconclusive right now.

I never saw it after the Dega race, I know he did it on tv from his car earlier this season when Johnson passed him... it was good for a laugh, he can be such a poor loser sometimes

Ironic his race was saved earlier on from one of those debris cautions he so strongly was against

Debris cautions are not called to favor any one driver, they are called in the best intrests of safety of ALL the drivers... just one small plastic bag over the grill of one of these cars can cause it to overheat...

smoke and his temper strike again and yes if he gave a one finger salute he should be penalized because montoya got hit with a fine for the same kind of gesture last week .
smokes a great driver but its time he gets his temper under control.

Stewart penalized himself, people that expect "smoke" to show JPM a thing or two have forgotten the list of other drivers still waiting to show stewart a thing or six.

If Montoya was fined for throwing his bird, Stewart sure better be fined for throwing his!!! And by the way, it would be Joe Gibbs that would have to fire Stweart, not Home Depot.

No seriously, that was such a stupid move on his part, given that he is already on probation and NASCAR is fed up with his bs.

I hope HD fires him and he has to beg for a job at Subway making sanwiches for all the other drivers who deserve to be on the track, like oh, say, ALL of them but him!!

After the statement he made last week about NASCAR on his radio address, I was surprised to see him on the track. If I owned NASCAR he would have been turfed the day he bashed NASCAR.
