dude the fact that you're putting so much thought into this, already says a lot. sometime its not the size of the rock but how you present it to her along with your romantic speech. is not like she'll determine the size of your love for her by the size of the ring besides i think you should save up for the wedding and honeymoon.

It's a steal. Do you have a report on this? GIA or another institute? I'd say thats a very good deal. It's not unimaginable, not record breaking low--but definitely low enough that if I were in the diamond market I'd go for it.
Mine was about the same price--same specs, about same tw but not princess cut. We had to drive everywhere to look for a diamond that nice and reasonable price. I think if you hold out for a VS1 or 2 you'll find the difference very minimal and have missed a good price for it.

I bought my diamond at union diamond online. Here is a similiar diamond to what you are looking at.
Diamond Information: Diamond Details:
Stock Number AA460572
Certificate: EGL
Shape: Princess
Cut: Select Ideal™
Carat: 1.24
Color: D
Clarity: SI1
Regular Price: $5435
Wire Transfer Price: $5277
While price isn't a steal, it is a good price, also you get to see the diamond before you buy it. Is the diamond you are looking at certified ? I would only buy a certified diamond. GIA is considered to be a good certification. EGL USA is not considered as good, but read that in reality is very close to GIA. EGL certification outside the USA is not as good.
Here are reviews for union diamond.

It is tough to buy online, I was very nervous. First thing I did was confirm the quality of the stone and have it set.

Just based on the information you gave, this is a very, very good deal. You didn't indicate the table %age, depth %age, symmetry, polish, girdle, culet, or length to width ratio. Check these out as well, and if they are in the very good to excellent range, go for it. If the inclusions aren't at all visible from the top, just the bottom, it's okay.
Ask to see the diamond certificate for a full report on the diamond before you make your final decision.

If you can get a GIA certificate stating value, then you can be sure that it is a good buy. Also, make sure that the diamond was not altered by a laser to improve clarity and remove some imperfections. This has been done before and some buyers paid a lot more than it was worth.Remember the 4 C's....color,cut,clarity,and carat.Overall with the GIA cert.if you get it I would say good buy..........

In other words, it sounds like a very good price, but it isn't the only good deal to be had if you are willing to shop around online. If you love it, get it. Make sure the jeweler guarantees it isn't a conflict diamond though.

Woaw.....it is better to fall in love with the ring, know it is the perfect one, than to try and look for a bargain. If you love it go with the heart......who cares if it is $1,000 or $6,000. If it is the right one, you will not care if it is value for money or not. Unless of course u are buying it thinking of the resale value.

It's a good price and a good sounding stone. Have you seen it in person? Unless it is a verified dealer, or they have a good return policy do not buy it without having seen it in person. Otherwise, good luck and congrats!
