Ok i just thought it would be a nice day to go for a walk through the woods on one of the many trails around here and boy i was wrong i got chased out by ticks! Before i called it quits i had already pulled off 5 running up my legs, I just couldnt enjoy nature like i planned when all i could do was keep looking down at my legs waiting for the next ones to appear,

Any sprays or tricks to keep the ticks off me ? They suck!!!

You can either treat your clothing (pants) with Permethrin, such as Sawyers brand, which repels ticks and other insects, or spray your skin with a product containing DEET, such as Deep Woods Off! or REI Jungle Juice.

Warning: Permethrin applied to your skin is poisonous. DEET applied to your clothing is ineffective.

Tuck your pants into your socks (yup, you'll look like a dork but it works)

The sprays don't really do a very good job but they do have some resistent quality.

Take a cue from Brad Paisley and enjoy checking each other for ticks with your honey when you get home hahaha...

Ticks are a pain but they are part of the landscape. If yu get one on you, it's not a big deal. Heck in my area more people I know HAVE Lymes Disease than DON'T! ( =

Good luck and enjoy your hiking!!!

Wear long pants and then put place gaitors over the bottom of the pants and over the tops of your boots. That will keep them out. Also, keep to well established trails verses bushwaking across country.

When you get back to the tent each night, check your body carefully for the little buggers.

Deep woods OFF works, so does Cutter's.
Read the label, the higher percent of DEET, the better it repels them.

I hate those buggers....

Try to avoid stepping in Ninebark...a plant ticks like a lot...Check it out to see what it looks like if you don't already know.
