I sit with people who I just couldnt care less about , It sounds as though Im a very unhappy person but Im not when Im at home Im just a happy go lucky guy. But at school it's different
I have this term left and then next year to get on with and I dont think I will survive, Please help me !

Hi,

I used to feel the same....I hated school for a long time, but i think i just felt anxious about everything. is there something that is bothering you about school? For me it was fear of being asked something or made read in class..it was simple but i feared it and avoided school..when really i probably should have told someone..is there something annoying you?

You could be suffering from depression..it doesnt mean you feel down but you feel everything is too much and too hard and not worth it...this is possible..do you feel it about anything else other than school?

Tell your parents how you feel, this way they can try and make things easier on you and understand what your going through...or even a teacher/school counsellor???

I know it's tough, i used to feel this way...you will get through it, i know thats easy to say but you will because you have to unfortunately....i hope things get better for you!

best of luck
x

I understand where you are coming from, however as you dont have long left I suggest you test yourselve, see how well you can do in your important years of study and aim high, work harsd and just make the most out of it, the year and a bit will fly and soon you will be free to do as you please, but you will have qualifications, which will help you so much in life! you need them to give you choice and the ability to do things you want! honest it's not like it's miles away and if you can just stand up to this and go ahead and do it then you will be a stronger person for it. Then you can leave school and do what you want when you want. I know it's mundane and even pointless sometimes, but just keep trying!! good luck

I felt like you at school. I did have friends but I never 'enjoyed 'school. I did fine with my school work and in other activities but I could not wait to leave.
Try to enjoy what you can of it. You are lucky because like me you have a happy home life.
The time left at school will fly by, and who knows you may feel differently about it in a while.
Just get on with getting a education and enjoying it when you can, you will survive, people survive MUCH worse.
Think of it as another part of your education, how to cope with things we don't like much, you will come across a lot of that in life.
So try to grin and bare it, you will be a stronger better person for it. All the best !!!!

I hated it too. In fact almost 20 years later I am still glad that I don't have to go back every Sept.

Either stick it out at this school or switch to a different one or explore the GED option. You will not be able to compete in the job market as a high school drop out.

I used to feel exactly the same magicalm! But you really haven`t got long to go. When you look at it this term is nearly over, and although you say you have next year to go you only have at most 3 months of lessons when you go back, and the rest you will be having exams and being off school. Just grit your teeth and go for it! the last part of your schooling is nearly over. Then it will be a distant memory!!!!

The Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewelynn (sp?). She also organizes the "Not back to school camp" for teenagers.

GED?

Or, there's the old-fashioned suck-it-up approach. That's the one I used (because in NL there is no GED and I didn't know about option one either).

It's your life, it's your responsibility. School is optional, but you're the one that has to deal with the consequences of w/e you decide, so think hard and don't make rash decisions.

well keep saying to yourself I know I hate school and I hate these people but if I dropped out I could be in prison (where most of the people also hated school are currently at now...behind bars) or I could end up homeless and destitute. Take your pick. I know several folks that hated school, the work and now are inmate 466789 up in Huntsville Maximum Securtiy Prison.

I know exactly what you mean, maybe you can switch schools, it's never too late.
If not then at least you've only one more year to go, then you're out of there for good and can go and get a job instead which is much better believe me.

You really need to understand that you go to school for a reason, believe me you will hate going to work more if you have this attitude.Life is just the same when you grow up,ask your parents.Enjoy being at school.
