I am 13 and I was wondering how many calories I should be consuming a day.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Are you male or female? highly active or not active at all?

As you are still growing, probably 2000-2200 calories a day is a good amount of calories.

Females need less calories than males. An average adult female consumes 1800-2000 calories a day. However, teenagers need more fuel to continue growing. Also you tend to be more active prior to 18 than after 21. So it is completely possible for your body to be burning far more than 1800 calories a day and to maintain your healthy weight you may even need 2500 calories.

Actually, an active teenage girl shoul be getting about 2300 calories per day.

Most of the diets I've heard of you should have 1,500 a day.

mMmmmmm....for a woMan it is 1500 i think but u still have 2 be burning all dem off so dat u dont put on weight!!!

i think its around 2,000 but depends if you are active or not.
