If you were a member of an organization that required you to pay dues, then you know that money is going to something in the organization to pay for things they need. A church has no membership fee. You are not requried to pay something in order to be a member. A church has bills just like any other person or business or organization that exists. There are phone bills to pay, power bills, bills for repairs around the church, and so on. The money also goes to help with missionaries both in this country and in other countries. The money goes to help the church build and grow.

Money is important to the operation of missions---free stuff cost money for someone.. To lead a flock today requires a good education(BA or masters) Simple maintenance on a building seating 1000 is not cheap. Local churches generally get their money from the congregation. TV ministries I won't go into. Missionary personnel require education in and on the countries they go to. Education is not free--It is a joy to give to people that can do the things I can't. If you look at it selfishly you can find objections. If you look in love you will see a need.

Here we go again with all her HATE & jealousy , that little creep by the name of Teri who I just reported for abuse.... First time ever reporting anyone but she appears everywhere with her stupidity and tend to hurt the brains of those who have learnt the joys and powers of using it... as they trained it with "accurate knowledge" and not cut and paste crap...

She must be a Jehovah's Witnesses.........!!!!!!!!!!!

When will she give up all that anti-catholic bashing........!!!!!!!!!!
. What is being parroted by the anti-Catholics is the fanciful history of Loraine Boettner a leader in the anti-Catholic movement.

Teri You need to lay off the drugs and try living in the real world for awhile. If you truly want to know about God, then quit thinking you already know all you need to know and dismiss the possibility there is a God. Find a good Christian church (I would suggest Catholic Church ) and study what they believe. Then and only then could you make an informed decision about what true FAITH is all about. "The truth will set you free "

...Our church does not "always ask for it." It is rarely discussed.
...God does use His people to meet needs, monetary and otherwise.
...Maintaining church property involves money for water, electricity, maintenance of building and grounds, heating, air conditioning, etc.
...Then there are books, Bible studies, and other educational materials, too...all these cost money.
...Our church also supports a couple dozen missionaries, here and overseas.

Unfortunately this is still Satan's world! And in satan's world, money is the name of the game, even for churches of God! It keeps the 'lites' on in the church so the children of God don't have to sit in the dark and have church!!! It pays for many other things the churches need everyday, and the salaries of those who actually hold down jobs for the individual churches, whether they be Protestant or Catholic.'
Even Jesus PAID to temple tax, remember the fish with the gold coin inside, He used to pay that tax?
"And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."

Because they think that they are important! And on the dollar bill they have written "In God We Trust" as they were very much in bed with the governments of this world not so long ago and still do their best to be there in spite of the fact that Jesus said that his followers were to be no part of the world and who can be more a part of the world than the worldly governments??? They put their faith in the things man-made as opposed to the Creator and the true fruitage of the holy spirit of God as seen in Galatians 5:21-22. They worship in their form of worship as opposed to the way that God asks at John 4:24 and with idols and statues and images as opposed to the truth of all things! They are responsible for more blood shed on earth than any other entity bar none... all in the name of God and for these reasons Jesus said that he would tell them that he never knew them, as they are workers of lawlessness... (when they'd come to him as he knows they will saying but we did this and this and that and expelled demons in your name!!!) No! They do it and did it in the name of the god who made himself an opposer to the true One... as he called that One a liar becoming himself (Satan) the father of the lie! That is how they can teach a thousand lies and think nothing of it. As a matter of fact, they don't even want to read the Bible which they did their best to keep away from the ordinary man claiming until recently that it was not meant for us to understand... that only they could as they scared the masses with their lies of fiery hell, purgatory etc.

It's not that it isn't important, Because that is plain and simply what it takes to operate in this world. But having it is not the problem, the problem is when your money possesses you. That's when it becomes a problem. Having possessions is not a problem, only when they possess you.
Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

For sure, money is important...otherwise we wouldn't be spending so much time trying to get some!!!
Its not "everything" however...nor is it our God.
It is a Medium of Exchange....nothing more.

Render unto Ceaser what is Ceasers...and unto God..what is Gods
