we cant choose which body parts to lose the weight off - it has to be overall weight loss. your body likes to keep it fat reserves on your sides.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

At this point there has been quite a bit of research on targeted weight/fat loss, and the results are pretty much all the same: You cannot target areas for fat-loss specifically. Your body will always store fat where it stores it now, so the only way to reduce love-handles is to reduce your overall body fat ratio.

you can't pin-point areas on your body wear you want to loose, but my trainer had me do extra cardio like running or jogging and even sit ups to loose love-handels. another exercise is to hold a weight ( make sure its not heavy or else it will turn to a lump) and seperate legs into a V while still standing and just bend sideways using your obliques. good luck

Standing up with your legs about a foot apart, sideways run one arm down your outer thigh ,then the other side and keep repeating.
