Can you not request a home visit? Ask one of the dr's to call and see you. Surely if you ring yourself and explain your symptoms they would come to you. If not they should have their butt's kicked

Why don't you find a place near you that can help. Get on the phone talk to a regular doctors to see if one will come to your home and then he/she can talk to other doctors about what is going on and get you the help you need I have put two site in here for you to get you started I hope you know of them and if so see what help you have in your area. First you need to have this documented through a regular doctor then a through others and make sure you keep a copy of everything. You are able to get SSI for this problem and help to get you out of the house in the future. This is not a problem that can go away fast. Many people suffer from this and its still not really known how many cause of them not leaving there house to seek help cause they cant. You can call every doctor in your area and if no one can help get a lawyer and fast cause this is something that can be helped and a lawyer can find ways to get the medical community in your area to see that you really do have a problem and the refusing of medical attention is a big deal.

Great question, I feel you...I suffer from Social Anxiety and Depression. I miss most of my Dr appointments and nobody will listen to me. In the past year I've lost my job, insurance, I've alienated the few friends I had, and I'm about to loose my apartment. I only leave home at night now and oly if I cannot avoid it. I am in a living hell and the only sources of help are far away and cost alot. I'll be interested to see what comments are added here. I feel I'm screaming for help, but nobody can hear me.

I've taken Paxil, Xanax, Prozac, Celexa, Effexor, Buspar, Trambozine (sp?)...nothing helps much except the Effexor on dpression. I need real serious help. You are lucky in that you have a husband to care for you...I'm alone with a dog.

I understand how you fear leaving home because I went through this thirty years ago. Sometimes when something you fear doing is really important, you have to go even though you're afraid. This is one of those times! Have your husband or a trusted friend go with you to reassure you that they will keep you safe. You need to go so you can get help to get better. I haven't had ANY problem since my doctor prescribed Paxil and Xanax. My daughter had the same issue and now that her doctor prescribed the same thing, she is fine. Focus on how great it will feel once you get help to be able to go anywhere, any time, and not have anxiety. Good luck and God bless.

Unless you live in a small town I don't think you'll find a doctor who will do a housecall, I may be wrong though. To get help you will have to go to the doctor. I know that's very very stressful and difficult but it will be worth it. After the first visit I'm sure he or she will prescribe something for you that will help you - not only in general but maybe a strong tranquilizer for those times you have to visit the doctor. You can do it!!! Good luck.

I suffered with this problem for several years and eventually was forced out of my home to seek short-term therapy. The first thing the therapist had me do was read "The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook" and put it's principles into practice. I made these little affirmation flashcards for myself and would read them when I felt anxiety coming on. I also had to force myself out of the house more often as practice. The therapist also told me that no one he knew ever died from a panic attack which helped me put things into perspective.

Call your insurance company and ask for Dr. numbers that can help in your situation, or look in the phone book and call one that would be able to do a home visit. It never hurts to ask. Good luck.

There are many therapists who will work online or over the phone.
