A friend of mine dreamed that he was walking on the beach with Jesus and Jesus told him that the Bible had good teachings in it but also contained a lot of errors. My friend asked what the errors were and turned to look at Jesus. But Jesus wasn't there anymore.
I told my friend to forget about it because it was just some random thing, but he's wondering if maybe God is trying to tell him something.

The Bible is inerrant ,so it wasn't Jesus talking to him .Maybe as the Bible says "Even Satan appears as an angel of light".
Or it was just something he heard being brought to the surface.

I do believe that God can use dreams to speak to us. It happened many times in the bible. I wouldn't take the dream to literally mean that the bible has errors in it. Tell your friend to pray about it and ask God to reveal it to him. He will. Perhaps the dream was pertaining to something in His life. The Bible is the inspired word of God. Remember that the devil can also influence our thoughts and dreams. If it has your friend doubting the Bible, then it was likely the work or the enemy. Hope this helps.

Who said the Bible had to be perfect? It doesn't have to be perfect for me. It has to be inspired. That's what makes it so good, that God from ages past could guide us using His word to guide us, it's the way it was supposed to be. Balaam's donkey didn't have to be perfect in order to announce the word of God, and neither do I have to be perfect. Perhaps your friend was talking to the traditional conceptualized Jesus, not the real one. Your friend can be even closer to God if he bucks tradition.

It is his subconscious that is trying to tell him something...
He probably read something in the Bible that he knew was inherently wrong... (it being alright to own slaves, for example). And his brain is telling him to let go of his fear of not listening to the bible by representing, logic with his version of goodness (Jesus)...

I would have to know your friend better to say. Some dreams are self-fulfillment. Does he try to say everything in the Bible is 100% correct? When "men" translated it, and reinterpret it, time and time again?
