First you need to understand that your Doctor is not trying to mislead you. He has given you all of the possible side effects, risks and the fact that they could come back. But what if they don't? What if you make the decision NOT to elect surgery, the polyps grow larger and cause even greater problems, such as chronic pain or death? What then? Will you not wish you would have listened to your Doctor? Surgery is definitely a scary thing, especially when it is not planned. But so is the unknown of what these polyps could develop into and the complications they will bring with them.....notice I did not say "might" but WILL. Good luck to you. :)

I think you should listen to your doctor. Most surgeries have some side effects but they're not nearly as serious than not having a problem taken care of. Some polyps can become cancerous. Now that would be a real problem!
