I have a 9 week old kitten that tried to suck and get milk from my male cat. I started feeding the little kitten regular milk and heard it was bad so I stopped. I was told to give him goats milk or the milk at the pet store to feed kittens. Which one is better and where do you get goats milk>

A 9 week old kitten does not need milk, it is just trying to nurse as a comfort, like a pacifier. We have a 2 year old cat that still does that to a few stuffed animals and items of clothing, anything soft and fuzzy. Don't worry much if the male cat does not mind but if it starts to go after fuzzy stuff like mine be careful because ours started to get 'fuzz ball' and it gave her an upset stomach.

If your kitten is not on hard food, try softening it with a little milk to get her started. Any milk will do. You can get goat's milk at the grocery store-in a can and it's good for a week after opening. You have been given good advice tho'. The kitten should be off of milk.

Stop!!! Do not feed your cat milk. Any kind of milk at all. The kitten has been taken off its mothers milk and no longer needs milk. The cat should be just eating regular hard cat chow. Once taken off its mothers milk it no longer needs the milk or should have milk. After 6 weeks it no longer should be drinking any kind of milk and since yours is 9 weeks then no milk is needed.

NONE!!! Giving a cat/kitten milk is a myth. Good for advertising and cute in the movies. Actually, milk is NOT good for cats. In later years the cat can develop kidney, arterial and even tumors just from milk.
WATER and plenty of it.
I've had four cats and learned the hard way. NO PEOPLE FOOD AND NO MILK! Cats like to sniff around but keeping them away from people food/milk is easy. Just SAY NO!

Your kitten is weaned now and doesn't need any milk at all. The "nursing" behavior is most likely emotional rather than nutritional.

The KMR from a pet store is the easiest to obtain for sure. Health food stores might carry some goat's milk and I don't think it's necessary to go to that trouble to find it.

I have gotten goat's milk at Whole Foods. Make sure to warm it up a bit before giving to kitty.

Kitten Milk replacer can be found at most pet stores

Stop feeding the kitten milk and just mix a little bit of warm water in with kitten chow to make the food softer so he can chew it easier. Once he can eat food without water in it and be getting enough food ,stop putting water in the food.

I agree to stop giving the kitten milk. You need to start it on Kitten Chow. This has a milk formula they they will need. That sucking thing is normal. My male cat is 13 years old and still sucks on the blankets. (I know not healthy)
