Leave it where it is. You may do more damage pulling it out - leave that to the paramedics and doctors. Of course, if you have been stabbed, you may not have much choice in what happens to the knife.

It truly depends on where it is.

Remember the Steve Irwin death? He pulled the stinger OUT and bled to death.

Here in Florida just a week or two after that happened an 84 year old man was diving, he got stung by a sting ray into the heart also. He left it in and was taken to surgery at the hospital and saved his life.

In your thigh, you might be able to remove it. But there are vital areas where the knife would actually stop a person from bleeding out, keeping them alive.

You should leave the knife in. Remember the sharp edge? It will cut coming out too. It depends on the area of the body stabbed, whether or not you hit any vital organs, i.e. liver, spleen, aorta, vena cava, spinal cord, lungs, heart. These all bleed profusely and if left un-treated, can be fatal.

Ouch. lol Yeah, I would say leave it in, because you don't know what you might be pulling out WITH it. Look what happened to Steve Irwin. Had he not tried to pull the barb out himself in panic, he might've lived.

Are you planning on stabbing someone?

Then the victim would bleed to death. Whatever becomes part of the victim stays in the victim. Let the paramedics handle it.

Pull it out and stick it in the person who stuck it in you. Stick it in them again, again and again until they stop breathing.
