my cousin likes a boy who is exactly one year younger than her.

She is a junior and he is a sophomore in high school.

usually it seems wierd for a girl to go out with a younger guy - but normal for a guy to go out with a younger girl. why is that?

thanks for the answers in advance!

also my cousin was once good friends with this girl in her school but that friend caused their friendship to end.
anyways, that friend is my cousin's acquaintance and used to like the same boy.

would it be wrong for my cousin to go out with that boy because of that?

i think its just fine for your cousin to go out with someone younger than her. i had almost the same experience as her.

my last boyfriend was also exactly a year younger than i am. and it went well between me and him and as well as the people around us. well... except for my bestfriend coz my bestfriend used to date my ex before we were together. she really liked my ex so much, but she said, she had to accept the fact that my ex liked me better than her coz our friendship is a lot more meaningful to her.

I guess if your cousin's friend is really a true friend then she will accept the fact that your cousin and the boy she likes are dating too. :)

I dated a guy in high school who was a sophomore when I was a junior and it was totally cool. We dated for about 8 months.

When I was in my early 30's I dated a guy who was 13 years younger than me and that was frowned upon by a lot of people, mostly my mom who kept referring to me as Mrs. Robinson - you probably won't get that. However, this was way before demi and ashton. We stayed together for about 8 years.

I married a guy who is 7 years younger than me. It has been wonderful!

It is perfectly fine. It all depends on how each person is themselves ... this does not necessarily have to do with their age. I've known people in their 20's that were a lot less capable in a relationship than some 16year olds I've known.
Younger guys can go out with older girls and younger girls can go out with older guys ... it just depends on the individuals.

In this day n age when people are dating men 25 yrs younger ur worried about a year?
HEy wake up.... let go of old fashioned ideas and prejudices...as long as they are compatiable, understand and love each other age means nothing....just apply the same bit of common sense that is required when men date younger women...

It's perfectly normal. Personally it seems more common to see an older girl and a younger guy, but thats just from my experiences.

its either a game of faith or the character of the boy - he may need 2 grow or may need a person who gives him security & he found it in a girl 1 yr older than him, with other words ur cousin.... if u ask me its not a big deal as long as they like each other... where is it written the male in a relationship has 2 be older???

Sure its ok, let her do whatever she wants. I say go get that Sophmore. when your in my grade(6th) if I went out with a younger guy they would be in elementary school and we would never see each other. But if you in the same school, then you can.

Yeah i would say it is okay too. As long as your not worried about what other people think it shouldn't matter. Just be happy.
