body starts burning fat after 20-30min of doing cardio.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Hi,

you can loose 10 pounds in 1 month. It is not healthy to lose so many pounds per month, but sometimes I know we all need urgent solutions.

My recommendation is to do to weight training, because when you use your muscles, you burn more calories. Do weight training 3 times per week and combine with running 3 times per week.

You need minimum 1 rest day per week because your body need rest - this is also important part from healthy weight loss.

Other important thing is your diet, because no matter how long you run if you eat not properly, you will not lose weight.
See example of healthy diet here: http://www.100abdominalexercises.com/fast_weight_loss_diet_plan.aspx

Don't worry about water, it is not fat and it is not important how much you will lose, because next time you drink water you will gain again water. Remember that the best way to throw water from your body is to drink more water. When you drink regularly water, yor body trows it regularly. When you stop drink water, your body holds the water.

About burning fat with running and walking: it is considered that it happens after 20 mins, I have read different studies, but in my opinion you can value alone when it happens.

I am sure that when I start to perspire I burn fat. So your goal can be to sweat longer, and you will know that during you sweat you burn fat. Don't forget do drink water while you are sweating :)

Wish you success with your exercise/diet plan and to lose as much weight as you want :)

Cut back on your calories, and do the exercises you planned. Eat 3,500 calories less a week and you can lose safely up to 2 pounds a week. Don't worry about water weight, since it's not fat. But watch your sodium intake otherwise you'll retain water and feel bloated.

It depends...In order to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than you usually do. To lose one pound per week you need to reduce 500 calories per day. Try to eliminate stress by doing yoga, dance, or any activity that you enjoy. Consuming 100 calories less or burning 100 calories more a day for 350 days equals an annual weight lossof ten pounds. To burn 100 calories in ten minutes you can do martial arts, swim, run 6 miles per hour, run on elliptical trainer. For 15 minutes you can ride your bike, ice skate, ski, and play tennis. For 30 minutes you can dance, golf, mow the lawn, stretch, do yoga, do gardening, walk 3 miles per hour, bowl, grocery shopping, clean your house, play volleyball, drive, and do office work.
