i ask her to get me toilitries and food at teh grocery store and she never gets me what I want. she almost acts like me and my sister (both adopted) don't exist anymore. she says we have to pay and fo everything for ourselves, but she fully supports my brother(not adopted) who is 30, who still lives at home witha kid. isn't there something wrong with this picture?

I have experienced this as well. except my sisters and I have the same mother different father, except the daddy I have has been in my life since 7. The way I figure it is somethings will never change, so the thing to do is suck it up, do not ask her for crap.. and show her/them(parents) your strength. We can whine all day on the difference of the treatment, but face it....blood is thicker than water. Obviously your mother "knows" YOU can survive, so thats why she's letting you. When I was in 8th grade, my "father" took me to Goodwill to shop for school clothes...while my sisters whom were 1 at the time, were taken to department stores for top name brands of clothing. In the end, they ended up as brats and expected everything and one still does and lives at home, RENT FREE with boyfriend and HIS kid at the age of 29. This too will make you stronger.

she probably wants you two to be more indenpendent from your brother maybe she feels that she went wrong with the brother and wants to raise more self effienct daughters.

okay...so I think you need to grow up - show some respect
to your Mom and she will show you some. You need to take responsibility for yourself - grow up and stop asking why the 30 yr. old gets to do things....and you don't....grow up....
