I worked in a hospital based chemical dependency treatment unit. The head doc broke the biggest rule. He believed the drug addict. Doc was trying a new drug that lowered withdrawal symptoms in Heroin addicts. Problem was mixed with too much Heroin the drug kills. Doc shot the guy with the huge dosage as I was screaming at him to stop. It reduced his Heroin withdrawal symptoms. He was in a coma for 10 days and on life support. Came to and left the recovery program. Doc never used the drug again. We almost killed the guy. Later got clean. 15 years off of Heroin and enjoying being a wonderful grand pop to 17 grandkids. Travels and speaks to other Heroin addicts etc. We don't ever mention his name around Doc. SORE subject. He knew better and he knew it

Well, the most famous examples are Mengeliev (sp?) in Germany during WWII and the experiments on blacks in the U.S. where the "patients" were not informed about syphilis, etc., when they were exposed/given it.
