have you ever called a girl a mere hour or whatever after getting her numer? why would you? I am trying to understand if waiting the official 24 to 48 hours is good, a sign of respect ,etc. or does it even matter if he calls less than an hour later..?

If he calls too early (like 2 hours after you give him your phone number) he is a needy guy. Most guys who know what their doing and who are laid back and "cool" will call a couple days after.
What this means is he really likes you (or maybe only because your hot) but he doesn't control himself.
It depends if you can stand needy guys or not, but he'll get needier and needier.

Could be a sign he likes you a lot, could also mean he is desperate.. Don't anaylize it though, just go with how you feel and try not to get caught up in this so called game.. You will be much happier.

Where is this law written? If I am interested I let them know before the the call and will call when I think she is available to take it. Why wait and lose out and waste time.

some times we try to call, but her line is busy, gabbing with the girl friends, so we have to go on to who`s ever next in line and ultimately forget to call back in time
