I have a professor who says one thing to me but then says another thing about me behind my back. Why this man gets to be a professor is beyond me. In other words, he is a two faced person. Any idea?

This professor is a human, just because he was able to get a job teaching does not raise his status above being human.

You can confront him on this matter and ask why he did what he did, perhaps he has a reasonable explanation. If he does not, or refuses to answer, then you know that he is not someone to be trusted. By his actions you will know his heart and can be properly warned against trusting him in the future.

It depends on what is said. I would suggest you talk to your professor about what you heard "behind your back." Maybe what was said is the same thing... but in a different way.

Hi lovely2006. You didn't give any details about your situation but, if this professor is giving you a hard time and you feel you are being harassed, then you should talk to a counselor or if you truly think he is lying about you, you should report him to someone who has more authority than him. After all you are paying his pay check.

If we were to eliminate all two faced people from the planet the world would be a very lonely place. In other words, get used to it.

Difficult to answer without some detail. Is it very innocuous and trivial? Or blatant and offensive?

If the former, you may be misreading and/or overly sensitive. If much else, (s)he's just not nice (but there are others like him.)

Yea,excacly! He is a two-faced person. Most people in our century are.Others more, others less, but most of them are.He is that kind as he seems, and please try not to pay attention to him, because there is not way in changing him...I have tried it many times in many persons by many ways, but without any results.I hope that i satisfied your queries... ;)

Unfortunately, this is a common trait. As long as you get a good grade, leave him/her alone.
