This isnt a beginner's question really. I have a specific End goal to achieve - Loose 10 pounds Body fat and add 10 pounds muscle at the end of 6 months.

The problem is - how do I set Intermediate goals in between? Every month, I would be loosing some body fat and adding some muscle. This means I cannot use Weight as my measurement for smaller "monthly" goals towards my End goal.

Is there a very simple , measurable way of tracking how much fat has gone and how much muscle has been added each month?

First do not set a weekly or monthly target. In other words do not measure of weigh yourself until the six months is up.
Next get into a good routine, so plan out what times of the day you will exercise and how long for. Then look at your food intake. I found it easier to stay on a strict diet for one week and then at the weekend 'if I had been good' have a treat. This went on until I no longer needed let alone fancied certain treat foods. Do not worry about what is going on with your body until the six months is up. I would start by calculating the BMI and then not doing the BMI until the six months is up. Good luck.
