Marna's Killer Rib Rub
Recipe #726313 ratings
Not too sweet, not too spicy!! Just too easy for the great results

8 servings 4¼ hours 5 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
3/4-1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
1-2 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon oregano
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1-2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 cayenne (or more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon ground dried arbol chile peppers
ribs, of your liking
mix all ingredients into a ziplock bag rub generously to pork ribs (you may want to use gloves as paprika will stain your hands for the rest of the day!)
to bake in oven put on broiler pan, meat side down at 250 degrees for 2 hours, then put in foil with apple and grape juice for another 2 hours. We Traeger smoker our pork spareribs for 2 hours meat side up, then put into heavy duty foil packs with 1/2 cup each of apple juice and grape juice meat side down for 2-3 hours (until cooming off the bone).
Take back out and sauce'em if you like!

This is an indoor recipe. Very simple and in short words. First, season the ribs either beef ribs or pork with just salt and pepper first. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Toss in an onion and some garlic cloves. Place the ribs in the water. Make sure that they are covered. Boil until somewhat tender. Take the ribs out that and let them rest. Then take your favorite sauce and put it on the slab. If you like them dry, then don't use that much. Cover them with an aluminum foil tent and bake for about an hour until the meat is falling off of the bone. If you like them wet, then slather more sauce in between the baking time. YUM!!!!

This takes a long time but it's well worth it! You will need the following:
Ribs (of course, danish baby back if you can get them)
1 Onion
2 Green bell peppers
2 Bottles of any bbq sauce (I use KC Masterpiece)
1 c.Black strap molasses
1/2 c.Dark brown sugar
1tbsp.Mustard Powder
1tsp.Garlic Powder
1tbsp.Peppercorns
4 shakes Liquid smoke
1tsp.Chipotle seasoning (mrs. dash or emerils is good)
1 tsp.Chili powder

You'll need a large soup pot to par boil the ribs or a pressure cooker. In that pot add enugh water to cover your ribs, add a diced onion, pepper corns, liquid smoke, an the chipotle seasoning. If you are using a pressure cooker, i'd reccommend you cook only for an hour. When simmering ribs on the stove, cover the pot and cook for about 3 hours on medium heat. Poke the ribs with a fork, cook til desired tenderness.
THEN! You'll need a large baking pan, I use a turkey roaster for this. Chop up your two green bell peppers, place them in the bottom of the pan. In a bowl, mix together your basting sauce consisting of the BBQ sauce, molasses, brown sugar, mustard powder, garlic powder, and chili powder.
As you remove your ribs from the soup pot to the baking pan baste each of them with the sauce. Cover the pan with tinfoil, bake at 300F for roughly 3 hours , basting every hour with your sauce.
I've never had a complaint with these. Happy cooking.

Here is my recipe for great bbq ribs:
1cup of ketchup
5 teaspoons of Worshteshire sauce
2 tablespoons of honey
A splash of Jack Daniels
1.) Whisk together ketchup and Worshire sauce.
2.) Add the honey and a splash of Jack Daniels
3.) You can either marinate the ribs overnight or cover the ribs in the sauce on a grill or even veggies.

get some pickling spice and a huge pot (if you are smart you will cut the ribs into serving size pieces.) boil them for a couple hours til they pretty much will fall off the bone. fire up the bbq and use your fav bbq sauce with some chili peppers, kosher or sea salt and pepper. oh if you want add scotch or rye to your bbq sauce. enjoy!

Take rack of ribs & lightly rub with olive oil, then sprinkle with your favorite dry rub - I love one I found by "Dixie Kickin" - it is very good, but you can use any kind. Wrap in saran wrap & keep in fridge overnight. Light grill & once coals are ready, place meat side up & spritz with apple juice or beer - I use Bud Lite myself. Grill with lid closed, misting w/juice as needed til meat is done......Serve with your favorite sides such as potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, grilled corn on the cob, etc.........
