I don't think this is a good idea. How is this in the national interest?

No.

The UN Charter, which the US and Iraq are both legally bound by, says that a country can only go to war with another if either
- you are attacked and you are acting in self defence
OR
- the action is authorised by the UN security council with a resolution allowing "all necessary means" to be used against that country.

Iran is not a threat to the US or Iraq and the UN security council would not authorise any military action against a country that has not attacked and is not a threat to any other.

Attacking Iran would therefore be a "war of aggression" and hence one of the most serious war crime there is.

Also, the US military is overstretched as it is and Iran is much better armed than Iraq. Any military action would result in massive US casualties, as well as inciting other countries in the region to join Iran's side, resulting in a massive conflict that would threaten other countries such as Turkey and Israel.

Perhaps for once in its history, the US should engage in diplomacy. It may take longer, but the subsequent peace will be fairer, longer lasting and won't cost tens of thousands of lives.

Well you have to admit that the Jews DO have a good reason to be paranoid. Nonetheless, Israel does not have the power or the means to defeat Iran. This is pure bluster. Iran is not some dinky little Palestine. It's more like Egypt times 2, highly intelligent and very westernized. Hitler thought the USA was nothing more than a bunch of negroes and mental defectives---surprise surprise.

Iran declared war on the US in 1979, they've been killing Americans ever since. It's kind of like Al Qeada in the 1990s - they declared war on us, killed our people, and we did little in response.

We can't afford another war.

Also, all of these stories about their nuclear ambitions and the progress of their nuclear program seem to be coming from anonymous government sources. Who are these sources? How accurate is the intelligence? Is it manufactured intelligence?

This is sounding too much like the buildup to the war we're currently in and (hopefully) we all know how reliable the "evidence" was to justify this one.

How many people need to die for these lies we've been fed for us to learn to be critical of the information supplied to us by the government and the mainstream media?

The USA is not prepared or capable of waging war on Iran right now. Iraq is not prepared or cabable of FEEDING THEMSELVES right now, let alone waging a war on anyone.

Sure if you want everyone to die right now on the whole planet. This would most likely be the final trigger to lead to world war three and crash the world economy

The time is not right yet. Plus we should cause an uprising or rebellion of some sort first. Hit them from the inside then follow through from the outside.
