Perfect Jacket Potatoes
Wash and dry the potato thoroughly
Rub it with olive oil and sprinkle it with sea salt
Prick it with a fork in several places
Bake at 200 degrees C for a long time--one hour or more The skin will be crispy but it will feel soft underneath if you press on the skin. To make sure it is soft enough, stick in a knife which should go through very easily..
Now the important and fun bit---Wrap it in a tea towel and then hit it hard which will split the skin and make the inside nice and fluffy. Unwrap it, add butter and enjoy. I am getting hungry just thinking about it... Good luck

Wash them and prick the skins with a fork, then brush then lightly in olive oil, and put into a medium oven about 180c for an hour, they should then turn out crispy on the outside but the tattie will be fluffy on the inside.

I always microwave my jackets first for about 3 minutes and then put them in the oven Whack it up to full heat and the skins get really crispy in about 10 minutes and they're soft in the middle.
Much quicker thean putting them in the oven for ages. Also i don't wrap them in foil just put them straight in the oven.

Bake in the oven @ 180C for about an hour.
Prick all round with a fork and roll in oil.
They will be cooked when they are soft to squeeze. Use a mitt.
Make sure you get the right type of spuds as some are waxy and not fluffy.
Older spuds work best

well you know the first part ,
put them in a slow oven about 150 degrees for approx 30 Min's, test with i sharp knife and if the potato is cooked half way threw , then turn the mark up to 250 degrees, keep turning the potato, and after about 40 Min's , test it by a sharp knife , by going from the thickest part of the potato , if you pull it out clean the potato is baked to perfection , the size of the potato governs the time to cook.

See you want them nice and crispy? I do all of my veggies in a pressure pot. Eating in five minutes, a saving on time, and energy, and the big plus keeps all the goodness! Have lots of different sizes and makes, can't ever be without one! Carry smaller sizes when doing a bush or overland trip. Go out and buy one today! Crisp them under the grill if you must?
