You can teach anyone just about anything. The question is will they live by what they are taught. Equally as important will be the interpretation of the teachings by the one who is teaching it. Lot's of people call themselves Christians and use the same text but they don't always come to the same conclusion regarding that text. Some groups take the words as literal. Some groups take the words as stories with other meanings behind it.
As far as solving all of someone's problems it kind of depends on what their problems are. In most cases, no it won't solve the problem, however it may lead them to come to a solution that will work for them.

No, it will not solve all their problems, especially if they don't take action.
Teaching a person about Christ and the Bible will take them one step closer to solving their problems. They have to accept Christ and that's another step. And so after that, they can follow His teachings and help them solve their problems. Of course, the person must not be a hypocrite. Christians still have problems, though.
As for me, Jesus just helps me cope. Rather than turning the gun to myself and committing suicide. If I weren't a Christian, I'd be dead by now.

No. I believe problems will come upon all regardless of who or what they are taught about.
I do believe that the teachings of Christ which are the teachings of Jehovah God of the Tenach or Old Testament help a person to live life to it's fullest regardless of their problems and help them find answers in life despite their problems.
Jeremiah 10:23 "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps."

No, some people will still choose to not pay attention to the Bible or Christ, even if we teach people about both of them.

i was taught the bible from an early age and i went to Sunday school every week for around 12 years. what a WASTE of time and childhood. i still have problems, dilemmas and uncertainties in my life. maybe if god existed in the first place then i and most of the population of the planet wouldn't struggle with the bad **** that is out there.

Maybe not right away.Psalm 34:17,Psalm 34:19 speaks about deliverance. But that person will be lost with out JESUS.
He might die with problems but he will have more problem facing GOD without JESUS then with JESUS.
GOD loves u so much that he sent his son JESUS to die for u to reconcile u back.
John 3:16 says "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.

I believe that people could relate to some of the biblical characters because they do reflect to a degree things that people struggle with.
The bible is timeless even though it's from a long ways back there are things that I believe people can relate to if they happen to read it.

no just the same as teaching me about the stars doesn't make me an astronomer...it's all about application. if they apply to their lives the teachings of the bible it will help them deal with their problems. They don't just magically go away.

In part yes and in part no. God doesn't just make things disappear. God convicts sinners of sin and from there it's the one who is convinced to make those changes will give their life to Christ.
It's more about salvation and problems will be there whether they are a Christian or not. Every one has problems they have to deal with whether they are a Christian or not.
