Revelation 14:9-11 speaks of some who are “tormented with fire and sulphur . . . And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever.” Does this prove eternal conscious torment in hellfire? Actually, all this passage says is that the wicked are tormented, not that they are tormented forever. The text states that it is the smoke—the evidence that the fire has done its work of destruction—that continues forever, not the fiery torment.
Revelation 20:10-15 says that in “the lake of fire and sulphur, . . . they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” At first reading, this might sound like proof of eternal conscious torment by fire, but it definitely is not. Why? Among other reasons, “the wild beast and the false prophet” and “death and Hades” will end up in what is here called “the lake of fire.” As you may easily conclude, the beast, the false prophet, death, and Hades are not literal persons; therefore, they cannot experience conscious torment.
After Solomon observed that the living know that they will die, he wrote: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” He then enlarged on that basic truth by saying that the dead can neither love nor hate and that “there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in [the grave].” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10) Similarly, Psalm 146:4 says that when a man dies, “his thoughts do perish.” We are mortal and do not survive the death of our body. The life we enjoy is like the flame of a candle. When the flame is put out, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.
There's no hell or heaven!

No text can describe heaven or hell in greater detail than the bible, because the bible is straight from God. And no, they don't contradict Christian teachings, but God didn't reveal exactly what heaven and hell with be like.

Any apologist can in straightforward terms supply as good of an answer they could create, hence they're constrained by using fact they don't have the direct connection to God for an answer. definite that's a contradiction yet then there are various. usual like maximum religions, they're no longer able to work out the completed image. the different element i've got observed is that maximum have the only objective of helping people who already have the religion, hence they do no longer anticipate save on with up questions or a real talk. faith teaches human beings to no longer ask questions yet to have self assurance by using unquestioning faith.

Because heaven and hell are the result of Christian traditions. The Bible is more concerned with social and economical justice in the here and now. Even God's kingdom is to be realized here: the last image in the book of Revelation shows God's city descending into earth to set up shop here.

The Bible was wrote by man, and man does not know how Heaven and Hell looks. We can only guess. The Bible is meant to be wrote from the mouth of God and what he said, but things could have been changed according to what was important to men. The only way the Bible would be able to tell us a clear description is if someone had seen it and told the truth of what they saw.

The concept of what hell is has varied through the ages from simply death, to a frigid wasteland and finally, after the publication of "Dante's Inferno" it became the fire and brimstone place we all know and love today.
Fantacies have a way of changing.

I do believe Revelation gives a discription. For some reason I remember it because they were talking about clear gold and pearls. I find it funny that the great mighty kingdom of god isn't unlike anything we've ever seen, it is discribed in context of things we know. Hmm, maybe, just maybe, a human came up witht he concept and is putting it in context they know. Pearls, gold.
What a bunch of horse5hit.

Maybe God just simply didn't see a need to describe them in detail or thought we would be unable to fully understand them this side of death.

Easy answer the Bible says "Blessed are those who have not seen but still believe." Jesus talking to Thomas said he believed because he touched the hole in Jesus side and felt the nail prints in his hand, We believe because the Bible admonishes us to believe by Faith. "Now faith is the substance of hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." You ask for a complete picture--the Bible answers. "Without Faith it is impossible to believe God."
