When you download any program, usually the wizard installer will ask you if you want an icon in the tray, have a check box to say yes or no about "start up", short cut installed. Read your options, if you don't you will only get an icon on your monitor. (Just pay attention to the wizard installer is to what options you want when installing).

This is what I do:
Search "Startup"
Choose the folder that has other startup things in it.
Make a shortcut to the program you want to start up in it.
When your computer starts, anything in there will start up. Good luck! The Startup folder is also located in your Programs menu.

There is a "start up" folder in the "All Programs" menu that you can simply drag the program you wish to start when windows starts up. Create a copy and then drag it to the "start up" menu selection.
