I have 3 girls and when they were A lot younger we tried EVERYTHING including cutting the hair short. BUT Lice become resistant to the chemicals and if you have 1 egg that hatches you are in the SAME BOAT.(cycle)then there are sensitive skin issues...that's another problem....BOTTOM LINE:
The best thing to do is go to the local pharmacy and buy a ROBOCOMB> Its an electrical comb that zaps the Lice--not your head--- It actually kills the LICE AND the eggs so they will never hatch!!!!

You can go to walgreens or walmart or any drug store and they have a kit you use. It comes with a special type of shampoo and a comb. You can even by washable hair color to see if you still have it in your hair. If you wash your hair it with shampoo and conditioner when you have lice it wont come out no matter how many times you try. And be sure you change your sheets everyday because the lice make eggs and they are a mess!! good luck. have anymore questions about it e-mail me imurbeachbabe@yahoo.com and i will get back to you soon,

My daughter brought these little dandies home from school. There is a huge process in getting rid of those little buggers! First, use the RID shampoo as directed. Then wash everyones bed sheets, blankets, etc. in hot water and dry. Wash all towels used in hot water and dry. Take all stuffed animals and put in a large trash bags, seal tightly and leave out in the sun until treatment is completely over (2 weeks) because you need to repeat this whole process in 2 weeks. Then spray any and all cloth furniture with a pyretherin spray (get at pet stores). Pick eggs from their hair nightly. Boil all combs and brushes. Repeat all in 2 weeks
We are the only ones who did not fight this problem for months. By treating everything at once, you kill them, repeating in 2 weeks kills any babies that hatch. It is a nightmare, but if you don't do it right right, you have to do it again anyway!

You either cut your hair short and use a lice kit you get at a convienence store like cvs, and you can do it at home. Or you could get lice shampoo, i doubt it'll go away completely but give it a try
