God showed me the root of why people murder others.
God showed favor to Able because Able gave his best (excellent), his firstling (tithe).
Cain picked up from the ground what wasn't excellent.
God rewarded/ respected Able. Cain was jealous.
God told Cain he just needed to do better.
Sin crouched at the door (tempter). It desires to possess you, but you need to master it or resist it. But Cain only meditated on how Abel was respected. He didn't try to do better. Instead he was demon (desire) possessed & killed his brother. Cain made the soul choice to do this.

I think it would be wise words for many to listen to. For some it is not even a question of whether God exists or not, they hate him, they hate God's existence, they hate the idea of God. Such was Cain. He took out his anger against God, on the image of God, which was righteous man, his brother Abel. A righteous man is only hated by someone who hates God first.

The Lord warned Cain: sin lies at the door. An evil power waiting eagerly to take possession of him. God holds us responsible to rule over it.

God knew Cain's heart and what he was plotting. Rather than see Cain overcome by sin, thus cursing himself even more, God in His Wisdom and Compassion tried to detour Cain's wicked thoughts and give Him an alternative. God was showing Cain that He loved him.

If you do right you will be honoured, if you do wrong, missing the mark will seem easier, you will want to do the easy thing, but you must master yourself and not become the slave of your bad deeds.
Here are some different translations for clarity.
darby translation: If thou doest well, will not thy countenance look up with confidence? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door; and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
bible in basic english: If you do well, will you not have honour? and if you do wrong, sin is waiting at the door, desiring to have you, but do not let it be your master.
world english: If you do well, will you not have honour? and if you do wrong, sin is waiting at the door, desiring to have you, but do not let it be your master.

God is telling Cain, if you will just be honest with Me.
Cain's offering was tares.
The gull to offer God tares instead of the best of wheat.

i don't think much of it at all -- since proof of a god doesn't exist, and the bible is, at best, a mythological, unprovable fairy tale.
those are not god's words, just because the book itself claims they are.
