As an atheist I've always pondered that question but there is actually an easy explanation. Whoever believes in God, believes that He made us first. He made everything else around us. He made us first and then he made all the other stuff for us, to surround us. So there really is no other thing of life out there. God created us and that was it.

Ummm...how do you know He hasn't revealed Himself elsewhere?
Tell ya what...if a spaceship full of aliens ever lands and tells us that they never heard of any gods, I will rethink my whole religion.
But, if they land and tell us that, not only do they know God, but they also know His Son, you must do the same.
Deal?
