For instance : Atheists "say"..we just want to be left alone , we dont want any religion shoved down our throats...but yet look how they come...look how they flock in droves to the religion room. Thats a bit hypocritical wouldnt you say? BUt why would an atheist be hypocritical like that? Hypocrisy is a relgious trait..a religious charachteristic and well....duh...everyone knows that atheism isnt a religion. So why are you gona start acting all self righteous now that Ive asked such a question? Self righteousness is a religious trait. Come on now atheists. Youre busted?

Not again. Why do religious people keep asking this? I don't think you people pay attention.
Atheists are all about education. Education, knowledge, information, fact, evidence, all of those are very good things.
Atheists come here to learn. Unfortunately, due to Christian behavior on here, Atheists spend more time defending themselves, and the other religions, than they do actually learning anything.
Believe it or not, I actually do read questions by other religions. Believe it or not, I actually do sometimes post in them. And I'm alot nicer to them because they are nicer to me.
Don't expect Atheists to sit back while Christians try to rule the world because its not going to happen. The only way the world will ever have a free and equal society is if religion DOES NOT RULE IT. Which is why Atheists are fighting for secularism.
Get used to it. This is NOT the 'Christian only' section and without the Atheists no one else would ever dare to post here. Everyone else already gets attacked left, right, and center for having beliefs other than Christianity. It would be even worse for them in here if not for the Atheists because the Christians can't butt out.
At least the Atheists draw Christian fire away from everyone else.

Ehmm.. no. First, some atheists say they want to be left alone. Others like to come here and question religion. Of course..some are more subtle than others. I dont see why that would be hypocrit! You are the one saying all Atheists are hypocrits based on a few obervations. Is this an excuse for me to say all religious people lie? Of course not.
This is a place to get answers and to debate. If no one had questions, there would be no debate.
Your question is not a real question...just a poor attempt to get a rise out of someone. I hope more people will understand this, both believers and non believers and stop with these accusations. Ask something you really want to know for a change.

Actually, there is a distinction made between 'Strong Atheism' and "Weak Atheism'.
You are describing 'Weak Atheism' when you quote them as saying 'We just don't want your religion shoved down our throats'. That is the position of many people who are Atheists.
The 'Strong Atheists' are the ones who are more adamant about forcing religion to retreat. We know who we are and we never claim that we 'just want to be left to our beliefs'.
We are more than willing to fight fire with fire.
By the way, I am a Strong Atheist.
Weak Atheism is generally the position adopted by people who never really held religious beliefs, only slightly different from Agnosticism. Strong Atheism is generally adopted by former Christians, as they are very familiar with the lies and tactics of the Church.

Since when does participating in discussion about religion (all religions, and the lack of religion) equate to a free ticket for christian evangelists to preach and threaten their beliefs on us?
It is similar to attending a comparative religion course in college, only to be subjected to the rantings of some over zealous christian preaching fire and brimstone.
The last time I looked, Yahoo! Answers Religion and Spirituality forum is not a "religion room" for particiapants to be converted. I am sorry you think so.

Very cute. Some religious people think that by creating stupid arguments against atheists this might somehow improve the quality of their own ridiculous arguments in favor their religion. And it seems that you are one such person.

The hypocrisy here lies only on the level that they don't want us evangelizing, but take great pleasure in trying to evangelize us. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. Atheism is irrational, and the nonsensical questions tend to demonstrate that.

So, it's okay to be a hypocrite if you're religious, but not if you're an atheist?
Your words, not mine.
