I'm guessing that there won't be an answer that will satisfy me but I'm curious to get some feedback.

I am struggling with the same issue in my life right now. I spent the past 25 years of my life not questioning my faith, and the past two, really unsure of why I was like that, or if there is a God, or if the Bible is right. I don't think anyone can answer that but you.

You are probably right, there won't be an answer that will satisfy you, but I'm not downing you in any way. The first step to understanding is to be curious. I've been a Christian most of my life, but I've asked this question a million times, only recently have I begun to understand some things. If you honestly want some questions answered, do some reading----- James Dobson's "When God doesn't make sense" is good, plus just read the Bible, and, if you don't understand parts, get some good reference/teaching materials that help explain certain verses. God is here for us, to help us THROUGH life's troubles, to make us stronger, not to rescue us from every hiccup that comes our way. With every tragedy, I have become more reliant on him, more at peace, more prepared to deal with life. I hate the tragedies, but through them, I am much more at peace, able to handle issues better. I'm not perfect, far from it, but I know that I am loved, and one day, when I am called to Heaven, I will say "Hallelujah, I've made it."

That is such a tough question for anyone to deal with. God allows bad things to happen to good people to test our faith. When things are going well, we may tend to take it for granted. Conversely, God allows good things to happen to bad people, to show how merciful he is. However, on judgement day all people will receive there due based upon what they have done in their lives. So in the end good people will be rewarded and the evil people will be punished

The way I look at is this.Satan also walks the earth. He is the one that is who twists things to look bad for God himself. It is up to us the faithful to see through the rue.Have you ever heard that something good come out of something bad?Every cloud has a silver lining? God is in everything? I could go on and on.If something happens, good or bad.I know that God has a plan for me.I just have to wait and see.He never leaves you alone. But He does test us.

If God is all powerful and loving, why is there suffering in the world?

It is often asked why is there suffering in the world if God is all powerful and loving. Why doesn't He stop it? Can He or is He weaker than we think? Suffering can fall into three simple categories: emotional, mental, and physical suffering. But, there are a variety of causes for suffering: morally corrupt (evil) people, disease, earthquakes, floods, famine, etc.
There are different explanations for why God allows suffering, but none of them can satisfy everyone. Therefore, I will simply list various reasons offered to account for suffering and evil in the world.

Proverbs 26:2
As the bird by wandering,
as the swallow by flying,
so the curse, causeless
shall not come.

The bad thing (curse) does not happen without sin being the cause. Can be sin of the person or sin inherited from the ancestors. If you have suicide victims in your family now, the next generation will have them also. Alcoholics raise alcoholics. Smokers raise smokers. Drug addicts raise drug addicts. Liars raise liars. Thieves raise thieves. Wife beaters raise wife beaters. Porno watchers raise porno watchers.

Bad thing doesn't happen without there being a reason for it which is a sin of the person or a sin inherited from an ancestor.

bad things and good things happen to good people. They wouldn't have been "good" people if god hadn't wanted them to. They may have been greedy or done something wrong. Not all things can be good. Also, good things don't happen to bad people. The people were bad on their own. They made the decision to be "bad".

I guess that depends on how you look at life. Sometimes bad things seem to happen to people who do nothing to stop them from happening. Sometimes there is nothing that we could have done. Sometimes when good things do happen people are so busy looking to see how well his neighbor is living that he does not see the good that has happened to him. I guess it depends on how you see life, and it seems to me that you see your life with your glass half empty.

I don't think God controls these issues. He is hoping you have a good response to the issues life brings your way. How do you grow from it and what do you learn?
